Like a rock!justinThis bed frame is by far one of the sturdiest frames I've ever owned. I'm a bigger guy and always feel like eventually they will break. It's going to take a lot for this one. It's rigid and sturdy.5
Easy glide drawersSheriI love the drawers. I can easily fit a dozen pairs of jeans in one drawer. They are smooth gliding. The bed has a nice white clean simple look.5
NordliHeleneI love the bed! It supports my mattress so well and the storage is great!5
Love itNatashaAssembly was somewhat time consuming but definitely worth the end result because I love the bed. The quality is much higher than I expected. I paired the bed with the firm haugsvar mattress.5
A Nightmare to Assemble Due to Poor ManufacturingChristina K.This bed frame comes in 5 packages and each package is really heavy. A fellow shopper at my local Ikea helped me get each of the 5 boxes onto a cart. During checkout, I made sure that each of the 5 boxes was a Queen size in white. While loading each of the boxes into my SUV (not easy), I thought about loading them back onto the cart and returning it. I now regret not doing so. I spent 12 hours (yes, 12) on a Sunday assembling it. Why 12? Because a few pieces were defective (chipped or warped) and a few other pieces did not have holes drilled in the correct places. This made assembly a huge burden and headache. After all of the effort, it certainly does not look nice and neat like the picture because if one thing is off by a millimeter or if a part is defective, the entire bed (edges) do not line up). Also, the drawers do not open and close nicely at all. I hate this bed frame and regret purchasing it. I'd return it if I could. The effort to build it is not worth it.1

Incredibly Amazing!AmberHad this delivered to our home and straight to the room. Very good delivery! Prompt! Several pieces/boxes. Took a few hours to put together. Solid structure. Love this product.5
Drawers do not work smoothly.DIANEEven though the bed was checked and found to be level, drawers are not closing correctly. They are pinching and not completely level . There is no way to adjust them like other IKEA items.4
I was waiting for 3KazumiI was waiting for 3 months for purchase this product. I’m so happy to get this!!!5
Sturdy/Solid but frustrating flaw in instructionsSean F.This bed is great! It's solid and well-built with thick pieces of wood and the frame is reinforced all around. Though building had some snags. Wife and I made it in about 4 hours, but ran into two things to watch out for: (1) When building the top part of the frame, you'll be adding the left and right boards make sure the boards overhang on the outside of the bed, otherwise it'd overhang in the center and cause problems with the rest of the construction. (2) There's a part where the top part of the frame's head and foot boards fit between the aforementioned left and right boards. This won't fit! The head and foot boards are slightly too wide to even force into place. We had to take one of the side boards off, put the head and foot board on, and then placed the side board back on and that was still difficult (though possible, unlike the instructions way). I read one reviewer say they had to saw some boards, I think this was what their snag was as well.4
Great bed but have patience and a helperGarrickAs with all things IKEA, assembly takes longer than expected. Get a helper! It is however built like a tank once it is assembled and great once finished.4
Drawers get dustyOli V.I like this bed but I need to point out an issue with drawers. Drawers collect lots of dust inside from my brand new mattrace movement. So I have to figure out how to cover that wooden part between mattrace and drawers before I can start using drawers. Its not hygienic to use it this way i have to clean drawers fully inside every week. Take everything out and clean it.1
Very good quality and construction.LEONARDOThis frame is excellent and very good quality and very very functional, since the drawers works as a storage for everything. It is stable and does not move at all. you will need at least 3 hours to finish it, meantime, enjoy the process and listen to nice music.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is fiberboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are – and this determines what we use them for. So regardless if it’s a bed, a wardrobe or your new bathroom cabinet, the leftover wooden fiber becomes a resource instead of going to waste.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"When I designed the NORDLI bedroom series I was inspired by modern Scandinavian design and smart functions. It all started with just a bed and bedside table, then grew into a complete series. Each piece works great alone or combined with others. They all have their own special features with focus on functionality and quality. The modular chests come in different shapes and sizes that you can combine freely to suit your space. Some pieces are also great in other rooms too, like the living room, hall – even in a small business."
