Great Platform BedJamesThis thing was easy to set up and we already had the king headboard that goes with it. The storage is nice and if you want to put other stuff away put it under the mattress in the center.5
Good, useful frame.AngelicaPurchased a new frame because I upgraded my mattress, this definitely takes two people to assemble (especially if you're a small woman) and I'd say it took about 4 to 5 hours to put together with my partner. Everything came as needed and it was very easy to follow instructions, but you might be a bit sore after construction!5
Nice bed baseStevenThis is exactly what we were looking for. It’s big drawers with soft closure is perfect!5
Worth the cost...butBeverlyThis bed is a project, and it will be best if you have help to assemble. I spent about 1 hour unpacking, sorting parts, and organizing everything. It then took me, my SIL, and my daughter about 3 hours to assemble. Upon completion, two of the 6 drawers do not fit or function perfectly, but they are close. They do not finish closing on their own, and they do not completely close at all. All 3 of us are extremely experienced in building, construction and general DIY/home repair. My SIL and daughter completely remodelled their first home, and I helped on occasion. We know our way around this stuff. This bed is comfortable, and the design suits my needs. I had more money, I would buy one of the custom made, all wood beds that are similar, but IKEA is probably the top choice if you are on a budget.4
Nice bed frameJohnI bought two of these for my daughters. I got the queens. These were only difficult to put together because I am almost 50 and it hurt to be on the ground for the first one, but the second one was easier a week later because I already knew what to look for. The drawers only my only concern because my girls are teens and might not be careful.4
Very Squeaky with almost no movementSarino R.The process to build was very long and tough because some steps where unclear. At the end you get a bed frame that makes a lot of squeaky noises with small movements. I do not recommend this product at all!2
LOVESARAHad a queen upgraded to queen so good for storage and sturdy wood!! Love this bed so much!!5
I love itAdrianoI love it5
Perfect storageMarinnaTook a while to assemble but it’s the perfect fit. Storage with the drawers and the headboard we purchased separately has storage too. No need for night stands5
Amazing PurchaseHaley D.While time consuming, this was one of the simplest pieces of furniture to put together (that I've ordered) from IKEA. Once together the bed is sturdy and seems high quality. The drawers are spacious and have soft close too. So happy I made this purchase, it has transformed my room and makes a small space feel really spacious!5
Had this bed sometime!Miles M.Hello, I had this bed for sometime now and the slats holding my mattress broke. I thought no bad deal I will just get replacement slats. However, this bed has special size slats, ones in which cannot be sold separately. If the frame is out of its one year warranty then you are out of luck and must go find an outside solution. All and all, I was a repeat customer for IKEA but no more since they mislead their customers and expect them to solve problems that are known about this model. If you are in the year warranty please, PLEASE return this frame, because these slats break will break and once they do you will be spending more money to fix the problem. Save yourself time and money!1
Sturdy bedframe with lots of storageJillian W.Many reviews stated this could take 10-12 hours to assemble, which scared me a bit. It ended up only taking us 2-3 hours tops to assemble. This is easier with two people, but doable with one. Make sure you have all the floor space cleared and open all the packages to sort the pieces before your start. We even sorted all the hardware into separate bowls. Read through the directions, twice, and be aware that the orientation of pieces can be hard to see in the directions at first glance but are very important for the assembly. I feel like all the assembly horror stories I read made me far more careful about how I proceeded, which in turn made the whole process go much faster. We are very happy with our new bed and all the storage drawers! The only ones that are upset are our cats, who have lost their under-bed hiding spots...5
This bed is super cuteMICHELLEThis bed is super cute and has great storage space! I highly recommend!5
Great bedPatriciaEasy to put together. My mattress fits perfectly. Easy out of bed. Great storage5
Sweet Bed Frame!Verified BuyerWe moved into place with limited space for the typical dresser in the bedroom. This was a great compromise that I highly recommend if you want to free space in your bedroom by not having a dresser.5
Great ProductSINAN S.Very durable and well designed product with 6 drawers under it. Surface finish is great, drawers open and close like a dream, installation is time consuming but straightforward. Not easy to find in stocks nowadays but if you find it, go and grab it!5
Queen mattress is too narrow for this bed frame!Jenya O.Please check your measurements, I have bought 5 Nordli KING bed frames before and I LOVE them, the king bed frame width is 76" which is PERFECT for king wide mattress which is also 76" standard width. HOWEVER, when I assembled the Nordli Queen bed frame and put a regular 60" width mattress, I saw that the Queen mattress is Too narrow and there is a space on each side of the frame, which is sharp wooden edge, because for some reason Nordli Queen frame is 63" wide, WHY? I have no idea, why a king frame would be made perfect for a king size mattress and queen frame would be wider than the mattress?2
Heavy solid bedVictorOverall, it's a solid bed, with drawers that are easy to open and, surprisingly, closes by itself when pushed to the last inch or so. Allow a lot of time to assemble. I took it in stages across a few days. It may prove exasperating and tiring if done in a single day. Having built previous IKEA furniture definitely helps. Be sure to look carefully at the drawings and dry-fit everything before proceeding. Words would have helped tremendously - not you won't find any. Be aware that there are TWO instruction booklets. They are in different boxes. Do not lose the allen wrench! You'll need a second person to help you in some sections. Use of a dead blow mallet helps. Overall, everything fit and I felt it was a worthwhile, although wearing, endeavor.4
Happy With It!MaryAnneThe best thing about this bed for us is its height. It is shorter than our other platform bed, and with the height of our new mattress it keeps my feet on the floor while sitting on the edge. Just don't make a mistake putting it together, the locking mechanism for the pieces is incredibly hard to get out.4
Clean, sturdy and minimalisticYvonneI purchased this bed for our college student and love the storage and sturdiness of the frame. The clean lines also make it easy to style.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.

Function solution

Room for more than dreams

NORDLI bed frame is more than a comfortable bed. It’s also a spacious storage unit with 6 drawers that close silently and softly, without waking anyone. A practical solution for clothes, extra duvets and sweet dreams – all in a small space.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"When I designed the NORDLI bedroom series I was inspired by modern Scandinavian design and smart functions. It all started with just a bed and bedside table, then grew into a complete series. Each piece works great alone or combined with others. They all have their own special features with focus on functionality and quality. The modular chests come in different shapes and sizes that you can combine freely to suit your space. Some pieces are also great in other rooms too, like the living room, hall – even in a small business."
