Nordli BedMaryThis is a great bed. Not too high or low. It was super easy to put together, although it is a 2 person job. however once you get the bottom pieces laid out and put together, the rest flows pretty quickly. The drawers are easy, peasy to put together and install. The 6 drawers give me lots of storage, and I have not filled all of the drawers yet.5
so much nicer than previouserinso much nicer than previous ikea beds i’ve had. easy to assemble - only 6 different types of hardware, so you’re not searching and comparing sizes and stuff. went together perfectly without much confusion, and drawers glide so nicely. very sturdy, very attractive.5

Form and FunctionNathanNot only is this base fashionable, but the extra storage it provides is also excellent.5
Perfect for my TeenCHARTIALove the color, look, and storage! Chose without headboard so we could move easily and change "headboard" whenever we wanted. Current headboard is massive pillows and wall art.5
Very sturdyBECCAFantastic bed base, it takes a good amount of time to put this together so be patient with yourself. It’s not easily movable. However, it is incredibly sturdy. The drawers can be difficult to get in and out if there is too much stuff weighing it down.5
Perfect for what I neededMariaPerfect for what I needed5
Platform bedGaryWell made, takes some time to put together but I enjoy doing that kind of stuff. Just follow the instructions.5

Not quite as good as I hopedGeoffreyThe bed went together fairly easily with mediocre instructions. I bought this with the belief that I was getting a pretty cheap bed that might not hold up as well over time but thT might look pretty nice for a while. The frame went together really well. Unfortunately the drawers don't want to close flush with the frame. Some do, some don't, some are a little bit crooked. I thought the hardware looked pretty decent and really thought the drawers would close smoothly and evenly.3
Nirdali queenAnthonyEasy assembly, plentiful storage, well designed and engineered. An excellent solution for a mid 20th century house with smaller rooms.5

It was easy to put together, love it!amwilkie28I bought this a few months ago, I am very pleased with the frame and how it looks.5
Love the storage underneath.SharlillyExactly what I expected. Love it5
Utilitarian and classyPavitraThis has been a really useful item- It looks classy as well as expands storage capacity in the room with the inbuilt storage enclosures. Highy valuable investment,5
Great profileZocoughWe expanded to a king bed and this base gave us the extra storage we needed without adding width to the bed. The soft close drawers are huge, so much storage space. I really appreciate the open hole for the handle instead of a knob/handle that would stick out like a previous frame we owned.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is fiberboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are – and this determines what we use them for. So regardless if it’s a bed, a wardrobe or your new bathroom cabinet, the leftover wooden fiber becomes a resource instead of going to waste.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"When I designed the NORDLI bedroom series I was inspired by modern Scandinavian design and smart functions. It all started with just a bed and bedside table, then grew into a complete series. Each piece works great alone or combined with others. They all have their own special features with focus on functionality and quality. The modular chests come in different shapes and sizes that you can combine freely to suit your space. Some pieces are also great in other rooms too, like the living room, hall – even in a small business."
