It’s a shape that’s used throughout the series, from chairs to tables. “The frame gives NÄMMARÖ a uniform and contemporary look. It’s also modular thinking that simplifies the production and lowers the cost. And since NÄMMARÖ doesn’t have any curved shapes, the products are easy to pack in flat packages.” It contributes to a lower price and saves valuable space during transport – all the way from the factory to the customer’s home.

Deceptive BenchCaelanThis bench is wide enough for many people, however its weight capacity is for a full grown man and a small baby (243lbs total). I found this out because after sitting on it and being the second adult on it, its structural integrity disintegrated.
If you buy this, buy it for 2-4 people but make sure the people only way 60-120 lbs otherwise you’ll be out $100.

Nice bench but not properly cutJocelynThe support stick for the bench wasn’t cut properly so assembling it was impossible without having to make one of the screw holes deeper. As a result, the bench is now battered.
Nice bench, but assembly issuesDanaLove this bench but it was one of the more frustrating Ikea builds. The cross-brace cannot be installed with the hardware and tools provided. The bolt/nut combo does not work correctly on the cross brace (the nut is too small and does not tighten onto the bolt). Required a trip to the hardware store for a functioning bolt/nut. Otherwise it's a nice bench.

Perfect Outdoor BenchTracySturdy, simple benches. Easy to put together! Rubbed linseed oil on benches and they look beautiful! Only negative is the screws that came with the benches are silver and stand out against the warmness of the wood. Would use darker color for screws to blend in if I had been paying enough attention when putting the benches together.

It is wide enough for 2 people to sit on, however I am not sure I would recommend 2 adults.
It would easily support 2 children, but when I sit down it seems to sag a little and I don’t think another adult sitting at the same time would work.

Have to Replace After 1 SeasonKarenBought a few things from IKEA for outdoors. One season they looked good. By the second season the wood was so brittle that the slats broke when you sat down. In the garbage they went. What a waste of money.

My husband is please with the wood quality. He will possibly apply another coat of varnish protection so it can withstand water better.
