you should get itPrestonbest thang in the world5
Works when you 1st set it up, after that good luck. RyanI purchased this since IKEA has gotten away from using their own sensors. They should have never made the switch. I purchased this a few months ago and it lost connection. You can't just put new batteries in it and have it automatically connect. You have to completely reset it. When I reset it, the IKEA Smart Home app recognizes a "new device", and it goes through the regular set up. The problem is when when it's supposed to switch back to the apps home screen. It doesn't. This has happened with all of the Matter smart devices. I live an hour away from my nearest store, so it makes no sense to drive there to replace an $8 item. Waste of money. 2
Motion sensor for closet lightsKarenSet up was fairly simple. Can't speak on longevity hence the four stars. It connects directly to Tradfri drivers which were placed inside upper cabinets in the closet, out of sight. The motion sensor faces the door and turns on the lights when we enter. Lights turn off after we leave. Works well. So far, we are pleased.4
Useless! AlejandroI set them up through matter over thread and they will just crash every other day. I got what I paid for I guess. 1
Drops off Thread after a few daysKevinI have four of these running firmware 1.0.7. I pair them OK with Apple Home (Apple TV is my TBR) and they work for 2-3 days, then fall off. I know IKEA is aware of these issues for a couple months now, but haven't seen any action taken.1
Works greatDanielI use with home assistant and it was super easy to setup.5
Motion/light sensor got me started with IKEA! DonI purchased this for its light sensor to turn on lights in my living room when the ambient light is too low. I previously looked at the weather and turned lights on before sunset when it was cloudy or stormy. It was hit or miss depending on the weather description. This was the better solution. It paired easily and has worked well for me and it didn’t “break the bank”! I’m using it with Apple Home. My thread setup is simple with two Apple TV’s on separate floors, an Eve smart plug, a few Hue Essential color bulbs and the rest has been IKEA’s new matter over thread based products! I’ve added Kajplats bulbs, Grillplats smart plug , Myggbett door switch and Klippbok water leak sensors. Everything paired easily and they are all working perfectly so far.
Great products IKEA! 5
Easy to pair, extremely sensitiveIanThe way I mounted MYGGSPRAY causes it to pick up vibrations from the floor above when someone stomps particularly hard. It's incredibly sensitive. It's also very reactive to motion. I was surprised at how well it detected me in several places I used it. I got a handful for various other rooms because they work so well.5
FailHamlinI’m using 7 of these - setup fast and easy - I have 6 border routers in my home all from Apple and I have zero problems with the other ikea matter over thread devices absolutely none but every single one of these just randomly disconnect - generally speaking these do not live up to what I expected from an ikea product - I do have the other ikea matter devices love all of them absolutely great these are horrible - none of these are more than 20 feet to a border router and would only pass through one interior wall at the most and the other dozen or so IKEA matter devices that I have live in those conditions without issue - maybe firmware will fix these issues -1
Good performance, remarkable valueDavidWith adhesive or screw mount options for flat walls and corners, and surprising responsiveness for a device that sips battery power yet supports Matter-over-Thread, MYGGSPRAY is simply an astounding value.5
Nothing good unless you go all in with DirigeraMarkThe big ugly Myggspray replaces a similarly priced Tradfri motion sensor that was small and discreet and had hardware settings for day/night operation and lights-on duration up to 10 minutes.
The Myggspray has no hardware settings. Without a hub it defaults to working day and night with a lights-on duration of only 3 minutes, making it really annoying for purposes other than, say, a closet.
You can only access settings if you buy the spectacularly expensive Dirigera hub.
For functionality similar to the old Tradfri sensor, you can try the even bigger and uglier Vallhorn (but the maximum lights-on duration is still only 5 minutes).
Thanks Ikea!1
Working with Matter setup into Google HomeLayneHave set up various automations to turn on/off lights. Lights triggering very fast. Working well.5
Great sensor, wonderful valueJulioIt works fine. It was easy to pair with Apple Homekit. Let's see if the battery lasts but it's a responsive sensor for a very good price.5
Doesn’t workManuelOthers have said it, but my first sensor was a total dud. Going to return it and get another. Maybe the second one will work.3
Great product.KevanEverything works as expected. Easy set up in HomeKit. No problem configuring to use third party lights on motion and lack of motion.5
Motion and light levelJonasWorks well and also measures light level5
FlawlessSebastianBeen working flawlessly in Apple home5
Works great with Home AssistantDuaneEasily added to home assistant with the Matter integration.5
So far so good!ThomasThese have been working great so far, but it's a bit early to make judgements regarding reliability. They were easy to pair to my thread network, and appear to have great range. Reporting illuminance in addition to occupancy is an added bonus. I'll be buying more.5
Works fine with home assistantAnonymous reviewerUse it with the ZBT-2 antenna on home assistant, turns on light in closets and staircase easily.5
