Product details

You can keep your desk clear of paper by writing your notes on the magnetic board on the back panel. Or attaching your to-do lists there with a magnet.

You can adjust the shelves to fit different things, and adjust them again whenever you need to. Adjustable shelves help you use your space more efficiently.

It’s easy to keep cords and cables out of sight but close at hand with the cable outlet at the back.

You can mount the legs to the right or left, according to your space or preference.

You can extend your work surface by combining desks and drawer units. All desks and drawer units in the MICKE series are the same height.

Good solution, but some assembly problemsBryanAssembled, it's a solid piece that can make good use of corner space. I marked it down to 4 stars because there seem to be some inconsistencies in their production tolerances compared to Ikea's usual standards. Some of the holes for threaded studs were slightly too small, and standard screwdrivers wouldn't work for tightening them. I had to use a specialized bit with a socket wrench to tighten them, using care not to over-torque and strip the threads. Ikea designs their products to be assembled with basic tools, which means this problem may be difficult for many customers. The instructions for assembling the upper portion aren't very clear. There's another review that mentions missing holes on two of the shelving panels. I thought I had the same problem until I recognized I had them in the wrong positions. Be ready for figuring out this assembly as solving a puzzle. Numbering these pieces could make the instructions clearer.4
Best furniture options JuanIt's a best option for small spaces, excellent quality and good price. I loved.5
Holes were missing on two of the panelsVictoriaTwo of the shelving panels were missing drill hoses for the screws on one side. Due to this we were not able to put the unit together completely. Looked like it would be very nice if the holes were actually drilled and we could assemble.1
Extra pieces didn’t needJamesI really only needed the corner piece of the desk. I left the shelving part I assembled.4
Stripped holes KassyRequired us to order new hardware and repair ourselves or return the 20k pieces it comes in. 2
Micke Corner DeskGinaWe had to have it delivered as it was not available at our store. Delivery was WONDERFUL! No damage done to the box or the product inside. I always check all my supplies before starting to put together. Had everything that was suppose to be in there. Very easy to put together and looks beautiful when done.. I only used one of the stoppers for the pull down slot because when both were installed it made if very hard to snap shut and open.. Over time this will be wrecked. One works great no need for the overkill of two of those stoppers.. 5
Missing PaintAndrewI ordered this desk on 1/17. I love the design and the corner aspect of it. Little did I know how difficult it would be to get what I ordered. It arrived and so I began building. The workspace, main part of the desk that you work on, isn't painted on top. The sides and bottom are painted, just not the top. YES: I matched the holes multiple times to make sure it was oriented the right way. Either way, the product photos show the entire thing painted - even the bottom. The top has the cork color. I contacted customer service and they quickly made a replacement order. When I received the order it has THE SAME ISSUE. This brings us to today. Another replacement is scheduled for 2/19. This totals over a month of waiting. Why can't I just get what I ordered? This is unacceptable.1
Great quality, easy to assemble. BenjaminThe instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I really like the fasteners Ikea uses, it makes the unit very sturdy. The big surprise was the magnetic sheets on the inside pieces.5
Poorly desigendAnonymous reviewerI've had it for over 5 years and finally relegated it to the trash. The desk could be better designed. The corner opening makes it difficult to maneuver a rolling desk chair in and out, as it constantly bumps against the desk's legs. Furthermore, the entire bottom is lost space. The magnetic sheet in the upper part came loose and slipped down, landed on the wall outlet, shorting out the circuit and frying my computer, leaving a burn on the desk wall. I thought this desk was merely a space hog. The quality of the metal legs could have been better since they easily scratched the floor. You can't move the desk easily since it won't fit through any standard door and needs to be partially disassembled. 1
Great solution for small spaces. Anonymous reviewerI bought this desk about 5 years ago. It survived 2 moves (and being taking apart and put together). I love the design, and ample storage space for your office supplies. This is great solution for apartment live and nice work station if you want to work from home. Though it was way cheaper 5 years ago... 5
The support leg is empty insideCarlosThe support corner leg is empty inside, it does a hole in the middle section, when you try to move it will broken, I fixed with a 4x2x28inch wood.2
Knocked down and set up 8X!!!Anonymous reviewerThis desk is unbelievable. My late husband and I bought this back in 2009. I have moved many times since then, forcing me to rebuild this desk eight times. It is a little worse for wear. But sturdy!!! This time the screw heads are starting to strip, but I'm sure if I ever have to do this again, I should be able to get ahold of IKEA and replace the screws. In this instance I did use a dowel here and there of a larger size and even used my dremel to make one dowel smaller on one end. The white/magnetic boards finally had to be retaped but not until this last time. No one will go wrong with this desk. Kudos to IKEA!!! Congrats!5
Love it!JenniferEasy to assemble. Looks perfect in my room. Love the shelves.5
SO functional !! JessicaI looooove this desk. I freelance remote graphic design and all the shelves and desk space with the inner corner for monitor and magnetic board for whatever you want to customize there is just perfect for creative work. Cannot say enough good things about this. I've disassembled and reassembled it twice now and it's still sturdy. Some marks here and there on the white paint but it doesn't bother me. Can easily repaint. So worth it!5
Great Corner DeskBrittanyMy daughter really wanted this for her room to save space and I was skeptical that it would. It has nice little cubbies in the hutch part, and really did free up a lot of space from her traditional desk. It was easy to build as well.5
I loved the desk. But it breaks easily.MelindaI had to get two people to help me assemble this. It's a beast. Small and fits nicely in a corner to not take up much space. However, when I painted my room and moved it, the corner leg cracked very easily. And in no time the whole desk was leaning into the wall because of the leg. I don't want to pay 300 for a new one. 3
love the convenienceYaniraso far, no problems easy to move and great space. 5
Good but could do betterJazmineI feel like for its price it should come with better instructions that would make more sense and come with some extra tools and supplies.4
Needs GarnishDenisCute desk! Would be perfect if the surface wasn't like sandpaper and unpleasant to rest your elbows on. Wish it was just 1 inch wider on both sides for my chair wheels to comfortably go in.3

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.

"My idea with the MICKE series was to simplify everything we do with our computers and mobile phones in today's high-tech world. Like keeping in touch with friends, downloading films and music, working or printing out tickets. The goal was to create a real dream product with maximum functions in a minimum space. One smart thing is the built-in cable management, so you can hide away all the cables. Another is that all the parts have the same depth and height so everyone can create their own favorite combination."
