Makes a difference!ChristineHad the mattress on the floor and it felt hard and not very comfortable. Put it up on a bed frame with these bowed slates that give it flexibility and the mattress was noticeably more comfortable. It made a difference!5
Works as expected. Nice supportCherylWorks as expected. Nice support5
We ended up purchasing thisIvaniaWe ended up purchasing this because the regular one was out of stock. The sales associate said this was an upgrade from the one we were going to originally purchase. So you have to completely build this. They give you all the parts and you assemble it piece by piece. Which after spending hours building the bedframe was very annoying. I would have preferred the old model. This new one gives more height too which isn't always a good thing. So hopefully it last as long as the old model did.3
Best everCARINAI don't know why ikea is getting rid of it. We love it and it is so much better then anything else you find in the usa.5
Very firm supportcovid1991It is harder to assemble compared to the other bed base they sell. But this one supports your matress better and makes it firmer.5
Half the parts I neededcaroNorfolk2020I just bought this bed base in store and moved several states away. When I got to my new home and began assembling my ikea purchases, I realized I only have half the parts I need for the Lonset. I have attempted to reach customer service several times (by phone which simply hangs me up without the option to wait for a representative, and apparently email is only for cancellations) to understand how they could let me check out without all the necessary boxes or how I could purchase only the parts I am missing. I referenced the item number, went to the aisle / bin as directed by the website and picked up my box. For the record, I had another item to pick up that was 2 boxes and it was clearly marked as having a 1 box and 2 box so it's hard to understand how I would've misunderstood the need to get two boxes if that was the case. I also think the check out scanner should've alerted the purchase as being incomplete if it was supposed to be two boxes. I'm now a 35 minute drive from the nearest ikea but I don't have a car and it's not available for shipping even if I did decide to repurchase the entire piece while only missing half.1
Bad Supportsmp33I've had this for just under 2 years. I bought a cheaper mattress from Ikea at the same time. About a year in I was finding a divot in the side I sleep on, I'm a 5'6 125lb human, 28yr old. If I tried to sleep anywhere near the middle I was sloped to the right side. Hip and back problems every morning. I figured that it was just the cheap mattress, so I decided to upgrade to a mattress from another company. Slept on that mattress one night to find the same problem! Come to find that its the slats from ikea causing the problem! Total waste of money. If you are going to buy a frame and/or mattress from Ikea splurge for a box spring and hope thats better.1
Sturdy and comfortable supportrhonda70Purchased about a month ago, and we couldn't be more pleased. Fairly easy to put together and gives our mattress perfect support. No more squeaks when you get out of bed! The sale price was a bonus!5
Wrong number of light/dark slatsRetMI bought the lonset slats for a full/double size bed, however in the manual it says that there is supposed to be 20 light colored slats and 32 dark ones. I have 26 of each color. I can't put them together now because the rubber slots and thickness are different, white being thicker/slots being bigger and vice versa.2
Incorrect number of slatslaurenbkWhile putting the base together, we discovered that we had the wrong number of slats. There are supposed to be 40 of the darker color, and 20 of the lighter slats. What our package had was 30 of the the darker color and 30 of the lighter color. In other words, we were missing 10 of the darker and had an extra 10 of the lighter. We called customer service numerous times (17!) and would be disconnected after getting the message that they had a high call volume and couldn't take the call. After finally reaching the point of getting hold music this last time, have been waiting for 47 minutes at the moment. We unfortunately discovered this late into the evening and are having to find a way to store the not fully-constructed bed somewhere else and put our mattress on the floor for the night. We are longtime IKEA customers, and have never experienced anything like this. The reviews for the base seem great! Will update if we get this resolved.1
This is the one to getMistasergioListen, the support this offers is ridiculous. My mattress of 4 years feels brand new and it was apparent that this was a worthy investment from the first night of resting on it. Yes, assembly is tedious - but it is not hard. The step that gets in people's way is putting the boards in their sleeves but I offer this -- When you get ton that step, one side of the frame should just be barely screwed in. Leave space so that the frame isn't completely flush on the 3 center support boards and put the boards in, following directions (board goes in the two center straps first - then dark boards to darker grey - lighter boards to lighter shade - there are only two tones. Should be some give in the plastic sleeves that allow you to pull back a bit and fit the board inside). After all boards are in - tilt the whole thing so that the side that is completely screwed in is on the ground - and moving from each of the center three boards - unscrew the screws - push the frame down so it is now flushed against the board and screw it down completely. That should really help with the trickier part of the build. If you've gotten this far -- Do it. Take your time - Read the directions - and knock it out -- it'll be worth it every time you lay down.5
Extremely Long To Assemble But WORTH THE WAIT!MigueReviewsSo I had bought this unintentionally because my IKEA bed broke , so is said, eh might as well upgrade everything considering I got my bed almost 4 years ago, so I went ahead and did research and discovered that this is the second expensive luxury bed slabs! So I went ahead and upgrade from the cheap entry level to this her end one and let me tell you , I CANT BELIEVE I FINALLY SOLVED MY BACK PROBLEMS IVE BEEN HAVING THE LAST FEW YEARS! It made my bed the most comfortable bed ever! I’m so happy I made the switch and invested in this one! It gives so much back support and it actually dose form to your body making it even more comfortable! I just had my first nights sleep and i didn’t not wanna get up! Assembly is kinda a head ache though! Extremely simple and felt explanatory though , it is very time consuming. But I would definitely buy again if I had to! Don’t buy the cheap entry level bed slabs! Definitely invest in this one! 10/10 recommend!5
I love it!VanessaOroI bought is about a month ago & it’s great I’m plus sized & I’m on the heavier side & it always hard to buy something without thinking it may not be big ppl friendly. But it’s great my husband & I love it! Very sturdy. I definitely recommend It.!5
Slate base is a pain to assembleTJinAZI like this product but the assembly is less then easy. I ended up not following the directions. Turning it on it side and then loosing the screws on the top side you can then place the slates into the cups on the bottom and then put the top part of the frame down over the slates facing up.5
Strong and efficientIleana 629This item is very good and strong but it took very long to put together even thought it was simple to do it was very time consuming.5
Much better support!mb351823We bought this bed base to replace the Luroy slatted bed base. Assembly took a bit of time, probably an hour or so. But the difference in firmness and support from this base for our mattress is very noticeable. So far, this bed base also seems to diminish any sagging areas for the mattress. Definitely sleeping better as a result of this base. Highly recommend especially if you value firmness for your mattress.5
The Worst and the BestXand83This thing (especially in a queen size) is a monster to assemble. Not complex, just super tedious. But it’s probably the most supportive slat system I’ve ever slept on. really impressive, especially for the price. If these came pre-assembled, they would be a complete no-brainer.5
ComfortableAndreamr11We bought 2 of these, one for each son. Both are highly active and were told this base gives great support. It is true. Both boys have commented on how comfortable their beds are.5
Way too much work to install!!Gl22150I bought the bed online and it was not clear that the slats were necessary. I went to the store ahead of my contractor who was the assemble the bed. Even in the store, there was conflicting information about whether the slats were included in the price. I saw on a computer screen that they were. The associate helping me showed me the various slats for the bed. She did not indicate how different these slats were from ones I had purchased before. They were more expensive so I (foolishly) thought they were better. Once the contractor began assembling them, it was clear it would take much time longer to install these and I was paying him by the hour! I am disgusted by the whole experience.1
Awesome bedConnie GAwesome bed Bought the bed for my grandchildren all the pieces fit nicely it wasn’t very expensive well worth it good quality kids love it5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is layer-glued wood?

With layer-glued wood it’s possible to create flexible and extra strong constructions with curved shapes, like frames for armchairs. The secret is a technique where many layers of thin wood veneer are glued together and then pressed into the desired shape. We often use wood like birch, beech, ash and even bamboo – and strive to use the raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste. Just like solid wood, it has natural variations in structure and colour.
