Mattress protectorANNGreat mattress protector for elderly as well as little ones!5
Works greatDN34I've been using this with my 4yr old, in her toddler bed. While the Len doesn't cover the entire mattress, it still covers a significant portion, enough to do the job almost every time. We haven't had any issues with it leaking through, and we love that we can easily hand wash it after an accident, hang it out to dry, and have it be ready to use again by the next night. I recommend getting a couple of these; I like to layer them between her fitted sheets so that if there's an accident, I can take off the wet sheet and Len protector, and have a still dry sheet and protector underneath, already on and ready to go.5
It does the jobNoelyHI works good just wish it covered more of the mattress and had some kind of strap to pull over the corner to keep it in place, it watches easy.4
Great if you use coin-op laundry machinesAvGiWe've used these (yes the same ones) for years, they have the shortcomings listed, but if your child wets the bed (not toooo much) these have advantages. Compared to a full mattress protector (which you need), these take up much less laundry space, which is especially important if you use a coin-op machine. They also cannot go in the dryer, which is a pain when it's damp in spring/fall (i.e., when it's too rainy/humid to dry outside, but not cold enough for the heating radiators to run), but otherwise ok, and saves money vs drying a heavy mattress protector. Basically we use these to reduce the frequency of needing to wash the full mattress protector.3
Great!kwitOkay, so when you buy these you need to know that they aren't going to fit over the entire mattress. I figured that out reading other reviews. I purchased 2 and will use one to change baby on floor. We will still probably use one in the crib for when baby is little and stays more in one place. But it doesn't fit the whole mattress, so when baby gets more mobile we'll have to buy an actual full sized-mattress protector from somewhere else. But for the money these are nice and you can use for multiple things.5
UselessCbtnI didn't pay attention to the dimensions when I bought this, but it's way too small for a crib mattress. I can't use it, and I'm more than three hours from an ikea store, so I can't return it.1
Great Product!!!natkirilMy wife really liked this product!!! Very nice.5
Perfect solution for potty trainingakm9I bought two of these for my kid when we started potty training and it's absolutely perfect. Really easy to place under the sheet and you just throw it in the washer to clean. I highly recommend.5
too smallmotherofoneThis mattress protector is just a flat plastic sheet that doesn't fully cover a crib size mattress (barely half). Very disappointed with this product.1
Perfect as a changing padVerified BuyerSo I'll be honest and say this product didn't work for us as a mattress pad - I wanted one that went all the way around the mattress for that. HOWEVER, it's fantastic as a changing pad for the diaper bag, and we've actually bought more of them for that purpose. Most of the changing pads that come with the diaper bags are much too small for any baby larger than a newborn, and I wanted a mat that would cover the entire area under my baby. This works perfectly for that - we bring one or two with us when we travel and lay them down on hotel beds, we put it down on the seat in the car if we need to change the baby in the backseat, etc. It folds down to about the same size as a regular diaper changing mat but is much more spacious - I highly recommend it for that purpose!5
Offensively badAmy KThese are waterproof as described. However, they are so small they only cover part of the crib mattress. You have to use two to cover the whole mattress. They are not fitted, so they shift around and get bunched up and out of place, leaving a lumpy sleeping surface for baby and gaps for liquid to seep through and stain your mattress. They can't go in the drier, so they dry super wrinkly contributing to the lumpy sleeping surface. They don't have any terry cloth or other breathable material on the outside other than a very thin layer of cotton, so your baby is basically sleeping on plastic just under the crib sheet. If Ikea made a fitted mattress protector with a thicker breathable layer on the outside, I would pay so much more. Sadly, I have heard that other brand mattress protectors are too small for the Ikea mattress.1
lindiux78I bought 2 of these for grand baby twins. Does the job well!5

Our take on cotton

We use cotton in many of our products, from sofas and cushions to bed linen and mattresses. It is a soft, durable, and renewable fiber that breathes and is good at absorbing moisture. All these great qualities make cotton one of our most important materials, but it isn’t without its challenges, much having to do with conventional farming methods that negatively impact the environment and poor working conditions for farmers. With our size and production volumes, we want to drive change in the cotton industry.

Working together to drive change

Each year, IKEA uses around 0.5 percent of all cotton grown around the world. This may not seem like a lot, but the number is big enough to drive change in the industry. For many years, we have been working with partners and stakeholders globally to transform conventional large-scale cotton farming and set social and environmental standards for cotton production. As an example, we helped set up the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) who runs the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. Today, more than 110,000 farmers have adopted more sustainable farming practices within IKEA projects.

Ensuring compliance throughout the value chain

All IKEA products are produced in accordance with the IKEA IWAY Standard, our Supplier Code of Conduct. It sets out the minimum environmental and social standards expected from our suppliers, including compliance with local laws. We do not accept any form of forced labor, child labor or treatments in breach of our supply chain requirements. Our cotton teams across the globe ensure that all cotton used in IKEA products meets the demands of compliance in our supply chain. By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been challenging to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve the industry. If we discover that we are acting in places where we cannot ensure our requirements are being met, we follow-up on the ground and drive change.

Material

What is cotton?

Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibers. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilizers and water.

Function solution

Just fit it on

Do you think it’s a hassle to make the bed? Then try using fitted sheet next time. Easy to pull over the mattress and safe for your child since the elastic edging keeps the sheet in place, even if your child tosses and turns. The durable fabric is knitted from sustainably grown cotton – a soft natural material that breathes, absorbs moisture and is free from substances that can harm your child's skin or health. A safe choice that allows you and your child to sleep well.
