lid not tight enoughJudithi wanted this to pickle but the lid did not support the air pressure. 1
Nice JarLisaThis works really great for pickled onions or pickles!5
Korken, jar with lid 34 ozBerniFunctional and just right for storage. 4
Carcinogenic gasketMatthewThe glass jar itself appears to be well made. I originally purchased this to store pickled items in the fridge - until I read the insert in the jar and did some research. 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, found in the gasket, is definitively linked to higher cancer risks by many healthcare organizations. I can't justify using this jar versus a mason jar or something safer. I also find it strange a company like IKEA would sell a product with this insert and advertise it for food storage. Needless to say, I'll be double-checking my IKEA food-related product purchases for now on.2
Glass jarIreneI use this glass jar because it keeps my nuts fresher5
Great Quart JarWilliamI use this larger jar for my fruit liquids for Jam/jelly making. This work great!5
Not the 'Clean' alternative I was looking forJulieI bought several of these as they are glass to reduce my exposure to toxins. Upon closer inspection of the label I noted these products contain a probable carcinogen, albeit most likely contained to the rubber gasket. I'm not an expert but it seems like a food safe silicone gasket would be a better choice for this product. I will probably return these for something else.3
FYI - Color NOT as Advertised (Scratches)RahvauniaThe jar is definitely not the same color as advertised (photo) on the website. It says "brown-red", but it's actually closer to a terracotta color. Not even close to the brown-red photo. ALSO - The jars are painted (meaning it's a clear jar that is painted on the outside) and the paint scratches off very easily. Jars arrived with the paint scratched off where the closure latch touches the jar. There was also a small scratch on one of the jars. Having the colored jars where it would protect any food items from sunlight/light was a great idea, I just think this attempt falls short. Either use a colored glass (ie: beautiful dark green you had a few years ago; that I excitedly purchased 20 of) or find a paint process that will cure well enough to be a bit more durable. Loved the matte color idea. If you buy a jar for color, you want the color to last as long as the jar. Other than the esthetic/paint quality issues, the jar works as it should, which is why I gave 3 stars. 3

Perfect for laundry organization CherieLove these.5
gasket / seal does not work to sealMayaIn writing a review IKEA auto populates the check for recommend. Sadly the gasket / rubber seal is too small and too stiff to actually seal the jar – (just collapses into the jar when you close the top. I’d say don’t get this product if you need it to seal.1

Perfect for InfusionsChristopherI use this jar to infuse spirits for cocktails. The plastic no-spill rim is perfect, and easily cleaned, and the jars form a wonderful seal.5
