It fits under the desk and extends slightly beyond so you have enough space to roll an office chair. I wouldn't recommend it if you need one for a large area, but it does work well for a small space. So far, we haven't had any issues. 5

Awkward sizeKevalThe sheet is too wide to fit between the legs of a standard office desk. It needs a notch at the top where it slides under the desk and where your feet rest. Without this feature, it is a useless piece of a plastic sheet.1

You get what you pay forCharlesThis mat worked pretty well, although it slid around and didn't always stay where I needed it to be to protect my carpet. Today, after 6 months of fairly light use, it cracked when I rolled to one side. It's not like I'm out a ton of money so I can't complain too much. I don't think I'll buy another one even though it's almost a disposable commodity at Ikea's price.2
