Lid broke second time opening itDonnaWhen attaching the lid I noticed one side seemed to be warped. It seemed to attach fine but almost every other time I open it with the foot pedal it pops off the hinge. Very frustrating and will be returning.

13 Gal Trash Bags don’t fit! MaximilianWe bought this trashcan for our apartment expecting everything to be straightforward. Even though it’s labeled as a 13 gallon trashcan, 13 gallon trash bags don’t fit.
Poorly manufacturedJanePros: Great idea with the 2 compartments and the foot pedal. Great for use in the kitchen as you can put perishable/greasy things in one side and paper/non-perishables in the other.
Cons: Not durable. Foot pedal design uses plastic pins for the lever point. One of the pins broke after 6 months. The other pin and the pedal broke after 9 months. This should have been built with metal pins and receivers and a heavier duty pedal.
It's also expensive for what you get at $40.

Misleading Product SizeBarbaraJust got this bin, ordered on-line as I have no car, so won't be returning, but what a misleading product. Will not take regular 13-gallon trash bags and IKEA does not sell trash bags to fit it. The trash bin is too wide for 13-gallon trash bags so a bag will only go on 3 corners of the bin. What a bummer! Maybe this trash can was measured for Europe but not the USA. Next size up for trash bags is 15-16 gallons but there is not too many of them around and even then, they increase the length of the bag and not the width. You will need a trash bag at least 28" wide. Regular 13-gallon bags are 25". This is a bad design and a bad purchase for me.
Pedal broke offFungSame as others . . . . cheaply made and the pedal broke off. The whole point was to have a step trash can instead of using hands to lift the cover. It is now useless.
DO NOT BUY, worst trash can everEvanI don't expect much from a trash can. It needs to open + close and hold a trash bag. This trash can somehow does neither. While the step pedal works, the lid doesn't fully close, which leaks out trash smell. I can't even fit a standard 13 gallon trash bag without ripping the trash bag.

$40 and the lid doesn’t closeGage$35 trash can ($40 after taxes) and it doesn’t even close properly. The lid closes at an angle / doesn’t close fully. At this price point, for a moulded piece of plastic, this type of quality issue should not exist. And sure, I can return it to IKEA, but who’s going to reimburse me for the gas and wear and tear on my vehicle? Are you going to IKEA? You should be ashamed to even be offering this product. And particularly selling it for $40 is simply highway robbery for such a low quality production.
Not enough spaceMarshaMy plan was to use this in my camp trailer, one side would be for bottles the other, trash. I bought the correct size bags but they were very difficult to put in and sadly didn't hold much of anything along with fighting with the trash bag not to push up. I think it's great for if you don't need to put trash can liners in, but not helpful otherwise. Not sure what to do with it now sadly. Probably work great as a pet food holder. One side for cat food the other side for dog food.

" Take it to customer service desk" for a refund as if there's an IKEA around the corner or in every town. Either make a bag that will fit this trash can or stop selling it as 13 gallon standard. Extremely disappointed, I'm stuck with it.
Best slim trash can ever!AnonymousMuted color that goes with everything, we have it on the side of the kitchen island, very handy. Going on 3 years and has been working perfectly, pedal, lid, it all works. We use 13 gallon Costco trashbags with string. it is a tight fit around the hinged ring, but once you get the hang of how to place it, it works wonders, never gets lose no matter how heavy the load is in the bag. I wish they had more colors so I could pair it up with another one for recicle.
This bin does not take 13 gallon bags so why say it is 13 gallonsLewTotally unacceptable product. How can you sell this as a 13 gallons can when a 13 gallons bag is far to small. You already knew this from prior reviews, but never updated the information on line. Just a poor response telling us to spend time to return it. This is not a quality concern, it is false advertising.

Very disappointed!Kathy13 gallon bags DO NOT FIT. This is so misleading. 4 hours round trip to store so I guess we're stuck with it. It's cheaply made and much too light, needs to be heavier. The ring won't lay flat with bin liner inserted which means the lid won't lay flat when closed. So very disappointed. $40 for trash
