Part of the Nytillverkad collection where several IKEA classics have been given a new look.
Designer Noboru Nakamura used LAPPMON sofa as a starting point and shortened it by 18 centimeters to make the covers for KLIPPAN washable – a width that suited fabric reels and washing machines.
Hallsta cover was first shown on the cover of our 1984 catalogue. Now, 40 years later, it has been given a new life under the name Långban.
Durable metal springs in the seat give the sofa a springy comfort, allowing you to sit, relax and enjoy it for many years.

The tests simulate typical usage of the product and are based on use by persons weighing up to 242 lbs.The cover has a lightfastness level of 5 (the ability to resist color fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 50,000 cycles. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home. Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.

Bought this over 10 YEARS ago. And still…ZaraThis little couch is my favorite little piece of comfort and has followed me from house to house. This was my study couch, my heartbreak couch, my leisure couch and everything between. Idk if the couch quality has changed at all since I bought this but the cushions are initially more firm and then soften over the years and wear. The cover it came with is so durable. It’s a light khaki Beige with Neon Yellow and Green stitching all in its lined fabric (I can’t seem to find this cover anywhere at all) and is in itself, kinda thick, and cushioned and has very strong Velcro attaching it. I am 5ft nothing and I can sleep on it just fine and my cats love curling up in it too. It’s in the spare bedroom now and comforts all guests who come over to stay the night. One of the best furniture purchases I’ve ever made. Definitely thinking about getting a new cover. What I love the most about her is that the arms sit so high and comfortably allow you to rest or use your phone, laptop, or tablet.

Langban Cover Design FlawHenryThe Langban cover has extra polyester cushioning that pokes through the very loosely woven fabric over time like feathers coming out of a pillow. Lends to a very sloppy look. This starts happening within a couple months and only gets worse. Do not buy it under any circumstances. Crazy that this cover comes with a $100 surcharge.

KLIPPAN loveseat cover issueRiazI buy IKEA furniture for kids and family regularly for last few decades. Each time I received good customer experience except my recent one.
I purchased a sofa (KLIPPAN) early this year. I followed the instructions to put the sofa cover and other setup. I loved the color and its small size as it fit nicely in small room. However, the cover always get loose. My fingers get hurt now because of frequent cloth inserting (the inserting roller tool which came with the sofa also broken now). I visited the local store today to get help or buy the new roller tool. The customer service agent told me to bring the item to store to check up the quality issue instead of giving me new tool and replacement/option to replace the defected cloth cover. I offered her to pay for the tool and damage cloth. But I was told that these items can not be purchased separately. Very disappointing experience.

The foam and cushion are pretty good and overall the couch is initially great. It starts to fall apart just a few months of use, mainly the back rest support is made of cardboard stapled to the frame and this eventually rips at the staple and the back rest collapses and you can feel the wooden frame.

Unicorn sofaNoraI used to work at a place with over 500 employees and we had KLIPPANs in the break room. They were insanely comfortable and held up incredibly well considering what they were put through on a daily basis. After trying and failing for two years to find the right sofa for my tiny living room, I thought, "I can't do this anymore, I'm getting a KLIPPAN." I knew it'd at least fit and be comfy.
It's magic. I put it together myself in 20 minutes. The cover is one piece and comes on and off with no struggle. It has elastic bands that attach to springs underneath the frame so it never, ever slips out of place or looks frumpy. There are no cushions to constantly be fixing. I like that the arms and back are all the same height, and the boxy design makes them work as a surface for my laptop.
It's genuinely so comfortable as well - I am plus sized and find it very supportive and sturdy whether I'm sitting or lying down. I'm so glad I went with KLIPPAN - IKEA, please keep making new covers!!

I bought the couch and it looks nice but is nowhere near the same quality in terms of comfort as the one at the store. The one I received is extremely firm, it has almost no give and is not comfortable to sit on. False advertising

A sofa for the many people
In the late 1970s, product developer Lars Engman asked designer Noboru Nakamura to create a robust sofa with soft corners and a washable cover – at a price that families with small children could afford. Nakamura used LAPPMON sofa as a starting point. By simplifying and shortening it by 3 inches, less material was required – and there was room for more on each pallet. KLIPPAN sofa was born and introduced in 1980.
