Great product. Wish on/off state remains when power supply is cut off.Anonymous reviewerGreat product. Great price.
I have this plugged into a smart outlet. However when the outlet cut off the power to the light and turn it back on, the light does not turn back on (have to tab again to turn it on). Can’t really integrate this to the smart home system.
IKEA can you please release the sister version of this where the on/off state stays unaffected by the power supply? 🙏🙏🙏

very short lifespanVeronicaI bought one of these less than a year ago to use as a backlight for my monitor and it's already dying - it sputters and turns itself off frequently. Plus they've raised the price - I think it's now double what I paid, and for an LED that dies that fast, it wasn't even worth the $3.1
Highly recommend WendyThis is the handiest little light for my RV! It’s more compact than any other light I’ve ever owned.
Easy to operate, store, carry and install
The perfect 12 volt light!!!5
Read the descriptionJanTo all who are complaining you "didn't know" that it had to be plugged in....did you read the description? Or if not reading, did you LOOK at the photos. It shows the plug. It shows the plug pulled out, meaning you charge it and it works without the cord plugged in once charged. 5
Customized a Lack shelf unit with these lightsChristThese lights were perfect, inexpensive, way to add lighting to a Lack shelf unit to display my RC trucks. I added six lights to the unit and was able to power them all off a single usb hub that supports HomeKit. The lights come on at sunset for two hours each day. I love it. 5
Good LightRichardI've bought 11 of these to use around my room when I have to wake up early or come home late from work and don't want to use super bright lights. Only thing, the 3M pads for the cable clip don't stick well. 5
Not as bright but good JhonnyVery decent priced and useful 4
Super cute mini lightSummerWe use these as reading lights at night. Cute and little with bright light. My biggest complaint is it comes unplugged from cord way too easily. If there was a way to secure it it would be the best little light4
Awesome lighting. JoyceAwesome light. Would have preferred USB-C to USB A cable. Very bright. Loving it.5
Handy and bright!CWhat’s not to like? We have these at the bedside, on the wardrobe door, and by the computer, and got extras for traveling. Yes they need to plug into USB, but that’s not a big deal to us. I just love how they fulfill the need for spot lighting without taking up much space at all!5
AnywhereSheilaI love the little Kapplake lights. They are very versatile. I am always thinking it would be nice to have one in different locations around my home. I have one on the back of a vase, we use it when we fill the reservoir in our coffee maker. We have one under a shelf so it illuminates the counter and one inside a cabinet. The light is nice and bright and the function is easy and effective. I can see more of these in my future. I recommend the Kapplake light. The only drawback would be it requires plugging in to an outlet. But that is the tradeoff for good dependable lighting.

Great little lights! AnonymousWe recently moved into a new apartment and wanted to add some simple lighting underneath the cabinets above the kitchen counter. We used command strips to stick them on and then routed the cables up and around to a plug where we used an IKEA USB charger to power them all. They also act as buttons themselves to turn on and off. They work and look great! Don't be fooled by their small size, they are much brighter than you would expect!
If I had one complaint it would be the cables used to connect to the lights are proprietary. I wish the lights themselves could just use USB-C or something so that I you could buy longer or even shorter cables if you absolutely needed it.
Otherwise we love them! 5
little lightRichardA great little light, not too bright or harsh. Perfect for lighting art on a shelf or cabinet.5
It should be more clear these need to be plugged in to workJoWhat the title says. It should be more clear it needs to be plugged in to work, not just plugged in to charge. I'm not sure why there's even an option to disconnect it from the wire since you can't use it wirelessly. The light itself seems fine enough, but I need something that can work wirelessly. So not this. 3
10 starsJuliaI can't remember the last time I've been this delighted by anything. This is a perfect little light, and it's exactly what I've been looking for to attach to the underside of a monitor stand to shine onto the keyboard. On a whim, I ordered two, but now I want more of them to use everywhere. There's no button, just press on the light to turn it on or off - how easy is that? n.b. the gel sticky pad and even a tiny cord holder with even tinier stickies are hiding in with the instructions. Oh how I love this little light! Ikea, please let me know if you will sell these to me at a bulk discount ;)5
Don’t buyLudyDidn’t realize that these have to be plugged in to work. Who has extra usb charger laying around 1
The adhesives aren’t so goodJI bought this light about 6 months ago because I thought it would look really nice but I haven’t figured out somewhere to put it where the wire wouldn’t be showing. But the one thing I don’t like is how the adhesive said it was reusable. I tried peeling it out and it split into 3 layers. I was clueless I was peeling off a layer instead of the whole thing but once I pulled it off it clumped up into a sticky blob. I tried stretching it back over the light but it ripped it into a bunch of pieces. The adhesive for cable management isn’t sticky enough so I’m clueless how to make the wire not show.3
Very nice gadgetJeamiellVery useful gadget, just I would like cold light instead warm, but I can't choose5
