Thought perhaps an inner liner being translucent and refraction of light dispersion is better, used a tee shirt hot-glued inside, works perfectBruceAdded to my torch light,4

Material

What is rattan?

Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested. Since it is a natural material and the products are often handmade by skilled craftspeople, each object gets a completely unique look.

Designer thoughts

“A lot of the inspiration for KAPPELAND rattan lamp shades came from skilled artisans in Vietnam. I made several sketches that we discussed together, and after a bit of experimenting with different weave structures, we agreed on this decorative herringbone pattern that lets light through and creates beautiful shadows in the room. The handwoven natural material and shapes means that it goes with most interior styles and spread a warm, welcoming atmosphere in your home."
