Sturdy but hydraulic loses a starEnrico T.My major complaint is that when you sit on it, it goes down 1 inch and when you get off, it kicks up 1” and makes a sound. (I have two of these and tried different heights.) I barely put my 150 lb weight on it too. The seat has texture so it’s not as slippery, but also not as easy to clean so there’s a trade off I guess. I’ve stood on this a few times since I don’t have a step stool. It’s solid like that.4

The perfect stool for our high bar!Verified BuyerWe needed barstools for our high bar but we have people of greatly varied height who will sit there, so we thought we might not ever find what we needed. These stools are perfect as they raise for the shorties and lower for the giants! They are nice and solidly manufactured--our heaviest friends can sit without worrying about whether or not the stools will hold them. Also, the foot rest keeps everyone's feet OFF my wall! They were easy to put together (Thank you IKEA for making your products idiot-proof!) and we love the low profile, clean look we were able to keep with these bar stools!5

Choose the right bar stool height

Choose the right height of your bar stool so that it is comfy to sit on, offers plenty of leg room and is proportionate with the rest of your space. Kitchen counters and counter-height tables typically range from 34-36" from the floor. To find the perfect stool for your counter, look for a seat height of 23-26". Tabletops or counters that measure between 39-42" from the floor, are typically classified as "bar height”, and require a seat height of 28-30".
