Perfect fitBee9It’s a flat shelf with smooth edges, cut to fit other components of my desk. Yes5
worst productNCLBThe metal brackets are not securely attached to the shelf and fall out. Don't buy this product.1
Hard to put together and it brokeDragonflyer333There were no directions explaining how to install the shelf using the pegs. I didn’t even know that there were pegs, until I watched some YouTube videos to try to figure out how to attach the shelf. The pine wood was very soft and the metal bracket popped right off of the shelf. I still can’t get it out together.2
Best shelf system for the money!michelewithonelI put the IVAR shelves on two walls of my utility room. They are perfect! They are very easy to assemble, but, I did need a second person to hold the shelf square while attaching the cross braces - which you must use. I used two sets on each 36 shelf. I am so please with the appearance and function of the IVAR shelves that I am going to remove my wire shelf system in my bedroom closet and put the IVAR in instead!5
Metal brackets fall offcdcdcdI have a very old (10 yrs?) combo with metal attachments that don’t click into place. I bought 2 new double sections last week and the brackets have been changed. The shelves click into place but if you want to remove/change positions, it’s really difficult and sometimes the metal bracket detaches from the shelf. I was able to push them back on but it’s definitely an error in manufacturing and shouldn’t work that way.3
Very poor ‘update’ZoedriverfulOrdered online to expand my shelves-product wasn’t made the same...fell apart.1
Ivar shelves unitRose2BI bought my ivar shelves on February 2, 2020. I will not go back to buy another unit although I need few more for my small home business I’m starting. I have always love the ivar shelves. This new design sucks to high heaven. Why, why oh was the design changed to an inferior one. I am so upset.!!!! I know I can take it back blah blah blah. All the efforts that goes to driving to ikea, buying the product, standing in long lines, bringing it home, dragging the boxes to the house excitedly to put it together just to end up with a flawed product then being told to take it back if you’re not HAPPY with it!!!! Are you kidding me? Just fixed the problems!!!!1
IVAR is the best shelving system ever!JenDerRockI've been buying IVAR shelves for many years now. The latest iteration is not my favorite. In the past the system for holding the shelves onto the supports was better in my opinion. They were easy to get on and off. This version locks onto the support in a way that takes quite a bit of effort to remove it. I understand it's probably for safety or something, but I absolutely hate it. All told, I won't stop buying IVAR as long as I live.4
Not Pleased with the new metal endsFeliciaBalerinaExtremely disappointed in the new design of the IVAR shelf. For the most part, if you install it once, the metal clip end seems to be fine. It's when you move it that it becomes a problem. At first you'll think, now how do I get that back in. But then you'll realize it's not a solid connection. When you consider there is a lot of weight that can rest on the shelf, it seems like a legal issue from a safety perspective. I agree that the old design should be brought back.2
Terrible redesignMommyNeeNeeWe have so many IVAR shelves in our house, it's nuts. But they recently changed the design and now the shelves are terrible. WHY WHY WHY??? Who would have thought that changing from plastic to metal would be a bad move, but it's the design that's the problem, not the material per se. The metal brackets just don't stay attached to the wood of the shelf. They need to recall ALL of these and go back to the original design. Are you listening, IKEA??? You need to fix this.1
Ivar changeFarmFamThis has been changed, and now has a metal support bracket, and the wood extends all the way to the ends of the shelf. Still the awesome Ivar that we love. Don’t forget the X bracket and make sure to sight down the shelf to get one that’s not warped.5
Redesigned - new ends fall off too easilycaitcreatesI have many of the old design of these shelves (grey plastic ends) and I love that they snap into place, unlike the design before that (metal lips that didn't snap into place). However with this new redesign, the metal ends snap into place but they require so much force to push them off of the pegs when you want to reposition them that the metal end snaps off. I recently bought almost 30 of these shelves and I've already had to return 5 of them.1
Garbage!gfj68These used to be really nice shelves, but they have replaced the end bracket with a metal bracket that falls off anytime you try to move a shelf.1
