IVARPaula G.Works great, easy to assemble, looks great too.5
Maximized storageSilkeWe bought 2 white IVAR cabinets in combination with the shelves and 4 white drawers. It fits exactly in our space and we use it to store all our ski and bike helmets, sun glasses…We also like the little white hooks for the side units for additional storage. We had to wait for the 2 shelves for a while to complete the combination, but understand the current supply chain issues.5
IVAR!JulieThis entire experience with IKEA was not good! I haven’t shopped there since 2017 because the last experience shopping for my restaurant wasn’t that great. Anyway, I moved recently, needed a kitchen cabinet badly and was tired of looking everywhere else. The one I wanted was “out of stock” until mid June. I bought the next best. After concurring with one of their rep’s and getting proper direction went and purchased all the IVAR parts needed. I painted the rails because I didn’t like their color. That’s fine I didn’t get refunded on those - I altered them! The cabinet doesn’t fit at all - whatsoever! Same old IKEA! I’m done with them and will NEVER be returning…1
Ivar EternalERINWe have bought Ivar for a few years, starting in 2019, and we love how adaptable it is, we changed our minds from our original plans and Ivar was utilized elsewhere to great effect. We always sand and seal/stain the ivar we buy. That said our most recent purchase was a bit lacking, the wood was rougher and there were more knots and holes in the joining. But overall GREAT price for what you get. Make sure to use a cross brace for stability and attach to a wall and it's fabulous storage.4
Ready Set InstallJANETTEFast way to build shelves!! Easy! I set up a lot of shelves for the garage, walk-in closet, and bookshelves.5
Great shelfSUSANGreat shelf5
IVAR - sounds like a RUSSIAN Olympic Coach and almost as toughMANOSBought this for my office / workroom to provide storage solutions for all the stuff I have. I make gifting items at home and store lots of stock in addition to my orders. My need for visibility of the items was important so no doors wanted and the ability to shift and adjust when needed. SO here are my #yaaassssss REVIEW: - easy to set up - easy to clean - all parts always avail, little pegs are more than enough - price is pretty sweet when you want to add on, expand because you can buy EVERYTHING individual - additional metal drawers and cabinets create a nice visual pop against the wood tone - each shelf is adjustable in size so no matter what your need, it will fit - sturdy structure and has wall supports in addition to the back brace supports So here is my #nahhhhhhhhh reviews - the shelves have a bracket on either side to clip onto the pegs / comes off / detaches easy and quickly when you are remove the shelf / grab some adhesive and pop it back on easily / if you are ok with this it is NOT a problem or hard - the back braces / I believe should be free but they are not, without them your unit is NOT stable - doors / while I purchased this for the idea that I did not want doors, in a few months I found the visual of it annoying at times and thought that some of the shelves I had could stand to have doors / options for doors are blah and boring That's it, way more #yasssssss so go and buy. Love it.4

IVAR bookshelfLesliethis is our go-to bookshelf. We had to “settle” for one with black shelves because stock was very low and the ones we wanted were not available, but it turns out we might even like it better! It’s holding small kitchen appliances, pantry stocks, and cookbooks (we got two, side-be-side) and we couldn’t be more pleased. They truly are a snap to put together.5
PerfectLauraBeautiful natural, and more beautiful stained.5

Ivar shelvesStephenGood bcause it is not overly designed and poorly constructed.5
Easy to build my own designHsiao-HsuanVery easy to build, and could be built to any kind of storage for kitchen or other uses. The only problem is that the in stock speed is so slow and cannot buy the black color because the black shelf’s are sold in package, not separated.4
Perfect fitBee9It’s a flat shelf with smooth edges, cut to fit other components of my desk. Yes5
worst productNCLBThe metal brackets are not securely attached to the shelf and fall out. Don't buy this product.1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful, renewable and recyclable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood. This way, every tree is put to good use that little extra.
