Product details

These felt doors give your IVAR a slightly warmer and softer look and they're also an easy way to create closed storage.

You can use pins to attach notes, photos and other things that you want to have visible – thereby adding yet another function to your IVAR in the form of a noticeboard.

The doors mount directly on the posts of the shelving unit – a smart way to quickly create a closed storage and a new look.

You can easily replace the felt material in the middle of the door with your own artwork or a picture that you like.

Low quality + high price= ReturnMaryI have Ivar throughout my space. I am so sad that Ikea has reduced offerings for this steadfast product. These doors were a disappointment. Stapled-in felt. I have rattan doors from when Ikea carried them and they were so much cheaper with superb quality. I wish there were glass doors, but at the least, please Ikea, bring back the Ivar quality items. It just makes me sad to see this design so reduced. :(3
Nice looking but unevenHannahI ordered two sets of doors, and none of them mount at the exact same spot. As a result, they are all between 1/8" and 1/4" offset from each other -- enough to be noticeable. However, I love the look of them as they clean up my space well. So I'll be keeping them and just ignoring the unevenness. I wish the felt were thick enough to use as a pinboard.3
Great product - one suggestion KyleI’m a decades long fan of IVAR for years. I’ve always wanted doors and hoped the version from Canada would sold soon. When these came around, I was happy to have doors, and still am. I only wished that the front was more functional, and not felt as I love to customize and paint my shelves. But I do love have the clean aesthetic of closed doors. One tip, you can attach and it not level there’s a screw which does seem to have a purchase but it helps with making things level with each other. 4
Nice doors for the IVAR shelvesBobThey were easy to install and when closed they hide all of the junk on the shelves5
European/Canadian Options MUCH MORE ATTRACTIVEAnonymousThese doors are pretty hideous. What is this for, a kindergarten classroom? Canada and Europe both get gorgeous all natural wood rattan options and US gets this. This is the reason I will not buy anything Ivar from Ikea US. Ugh.1
OK but poor value Anonymous reviewerThe doors are adequate, I guess. But when you compare the price of these doors plus shelves, it's not less expensive than IVAR cabinets with solid wood doors which are more durable and versatile, and the cabinets "fill in" the side view too, and can be used on their own. The color looks like "black that missed" not a nice sophisticated shade of grey, and the extreme dark/light doesn't look nice. So I'm not sure what the point is. It's also not easy to remove the felt and cover it with fabric of one's choice, which could make this item highly "hackable" (the other point of IVAR, right?). The fasteners for the hinges are clever but unimpressive. It'd be kind of awesome if IKEA combined those fasteners with the traditional IVAR cabinet doors and made a way to mount doors horizontal instead of vertical (the size fits!). I'm probably going to use them just flat on the wall instead as a "higher end" thumbtack board that complements the dimension and appearance of the IVAR system. 3

"It’s inspiring and a great responsibility to design new parts for an icon like IVAR. The idea of adding felt as material was to create an exciting sense of cohesion with the pine and give IVAR a slightly softer, warmer expression. The series also gets new functions with the doors where notes, photos and other things can be fixed with pins. And the shelf with compartments helps keep small items organized. I think this makes IVAR even better – and hopefully many people agree!"
