Great shelf + desk for small spaces!NatalieLove my new shelf desk combo! In summary it works great, looks great, and I'd recommend I to others. I bought this to have a dedicated surface for sewing and other projects that I could tuck away when not in use. Assembly took time, but it was fairly easy. I was able to assemble the entire thing solo with a bit finagling and a level, but I'd recommend having second person to help get everything square. It took me a while to realize that the metal pins for the shelves come popped into the shelves themselves. Got them out with some needle-nose pliers without much trouble. The shelf and desk both pass the shake test. I can put my old Singer machine on the front corner of the desk without any noticeable sag (yay!). The surface of the desk the desk is smooth, however I plan to place a mat on top while sewing to reduce the chance of fabric snagging on the unfinished surface. The shelves have noticeable gaps, but I'd say they're acceptable for the price and functionally fine. 5
