New Ivar sides are terrible nowJohnThe side pieces of this shelving unit used to come fully assembled—now both posts and the horizontal pieces have to be hammered together with a multi-step dowel system. I have assembled A LOT of Ikea furniture, and furniture from other brands, but I would never order these again in their present state. I am not the most discrete neighbor in my building, but the side pieces now require such a large and difficult amount of hammering, I cant imagine a time of day that these would be appropriate to assemble in a New York apartment. I have many ivar pieces in my home, but will not be ordering any more until this assembly is brought back to its previous design.1
