Infuriating LukasShelves for this product came unpackaged with stickers stuck to the soft wood that were an absolute nightmare to remove, leaving a sticky residue that even “goo-gone” wouldn’t fix. Product was also missing one of the slats that hold the whole unit together. Even after construction the shelves are incredibly unstable and wobbly, the small metal brace isn’t enough to help. I’d be concerned to put anything with significant weight on them. Definitely not worth the price and very disappointing. 1

Most dissapointing IKEA product in a long timeAnonymousThese shelves look nice. I painted them with whitewash and added a couple coats of matte clear polyurethane. It's a great look. But that's the only good thing. First, they feel super flimsy. I ordered the 2 section unit, and the 2nd section doesn't have any support. The only thing that keeps these shelves stable is the small metal X, but the smaller shelf section doesn't have this. If you lift the shelves off the ground, the 2nd section just flops around. This made it incredibly difficult to paint, as the unit cannot be laid down, or tipped towards one side, or the whole thing just collapses. Second, there are large gaps between the shelves and the legs. None of the images on the product page show these gaps. Sloppy. Third, they don't include instructions with this. It slowed me down a lot especially since the gaps looked so janky, and the whole thing was so flimsy I figured no way was I doing it right. There are a lot of videos on YouTube showing how to build these (it's easy) but it create a lot of confusion. Fourth, the pin assembly seems a little weak. I'd be surprised if this lasts more than a year. I bought it for a shed and intended to store relatively heavy items on it. I've been using Ikea bookcases forever and this is very very different and disappointing.2
