BROKE :(MohamedI love this mirror and how you can put stuff on the ledge when you hang it on the wall. However, when I stood it up on a dresser (also from Ikea), it wouldn't stand up and when you got it standing, it would fall down at the slightest touch. One day, it fell down completely off the dresser while I was nowhere near it and the mirror completely shattered. This looks like a really nice mirror, but if you get it, I would recommend mounting it on the wall.1

Material

What is mirror glass?

Mirror glass is made of mostly of ordinary glass with a reflective coating in some kind of metal. In the past it was common for the coating to contain lead or mercury – but over time, both of these metals have been shown to be harmful to people and the environment. That’s why, as of several years ago, IKEA has a total ban on using lead or mercury in our mirrors and instead it is non-toxic silver or aluminium that reflects your mirror image.

"My starting point for IKORNNES mirrors was using form-pressed veneer, because this technique adds a special warmth and softness. Both mirrors have extra functions, too. The floor-standing mirror has a hanger at the back, for your clothes. And if you hang the smaller mirror on the wall, the stand becomes an extra shelf or somewhere to hang small items and trinkets. I’m sure that you’ll like these mirrors, and hope that they’ll make your everyday life just a little bit easier."
