One of my fav Ikea itemsTraceyLooks sleek and super easy to use. I find it easier to take out a knife when the blade is facing away from me. Works with both big knives like a chef's knife and smaller paring knives. I've had mine for a year and it's still going strong.

Knives won't fit anymoreKimberleyI've had this for a couple years and my knives will no longer fit for some reason. It's very hard to put them in and it's especially hard to take them out which could be potentially dangerous.
Nice design, poor materialsCurtThis is a nice-looking knife block, but the cheap plastic sticks inside give it a very limited lifespan. Inserting knives day after day, invariably bends the soft plastic sticks, which then over time, prevents knives from going in at all.
Had this been made of wooden sticks or very stiff plastic, it would not be an issue — but alas, it is. I’ll see if I can get my own wooden sticks or just re-use the glass cylinder and cork base for a candleholder.
Love this! Customized itAmandaI bought this (great price) and slid out the insert, and put the insert into a handmade canister I love but couldn't use because the lid had broken. Now I can use my favorite canister as a knife holder. I am saving the glass cylinder with cork base to use for another decorative project.
