Not a tight sealSamanthaI love that it is all metal and glass! (No plastic)
But my coffee was full of grounds because the plunger and screens aren't a tight fit.
PerfectGorPerfect for my needs. I use a large soup mug for my coffee and this French Press makes the perfect amount to fill it plus a little extra. Unfortunately, I dropped it in my steel sink and it broke BUT no small shards because the right glass was used to make it! Am ordering a new one as soon as I can because the replacement (another brand) my friend bought me is less than perfect.
IKEA FRENCH PRESS 32oz WORKS GREAT WITH A VERY REASONABLE PRICE!Lawrence-CobaltThurs. 06/19/2025 6 pm PST
I needed a new way to brew & drink my morning COFFEE! I didn't want another small appliance in my kitchen, which is over-flowing with them.
I needed to be in downtown San Francisco, & had passed by the IKEA on Market Street - close to 5th Street. Actually, I was looking for storage cabinets & just stumbled upon the IKEA FRENCH PRESS 32 oz. I am so glad that I purchased it!
It makes a GREAT "CUP OF JOE!' It is compact. Plus, it prevents me from drinking 4/6/8 cups of coffee on regular drip coffee machines.
Thank you for taking the time to read this review. LCJ
No plastic.MoniqueWhat I love most about this French Press is that there is no plastic whatsoever inside. I do love the way it looks as well.
The top wood button did split a little bit though, on mine. I don't know if anyone else has this kind of an issue.
Low QualityRobertVery brittle - glass broke within the first month. Too bad, it makes great coffee.
Great large French press without plasticAmberGifted this to my partner a year and a half ago. It's held up beautifully to daily use, easily disassembles to clean, and makes a good batch of coffee. It's also a pleasing, simple design.
The glass thickness can vary across Ikea products, so I made sure to get a press that looked sturdy and had a good spout; I'd guess the ones breaking are just too thin and delicate to hold up to regular use, or too thick and thus the glass heats unevenly. Buy in person if you can, or take your chances.
We wash by hand, and I recommend ignoring the "machine washable" claim for any press when it comes to stuff like the mesh filter -- you technically could, but you'll have to replace it sooner, with little benefit.
Enjoy your coffee time!
Bad quality, easy to breakHyunahI purchased a month ago and it broke. The look good but the quality is not The glass part is very thin and easy to break. IKEA needs to redesign this item.
All glass, great for heating waterAnonymous reviewerThe best part about this simple press is that (without the lid and plunger) it's all glass. Fill it with water and microwave to heat to save gas energy.
Glass container broke less than two weeks, NEEDS ReDESIGNMaryThis new all glass design coffee press broke in less that two weeks, the mouth /pour spout barely touched against an item. I still have the UPPHETA plastic original from 9 years ago. There needs to be the same support silver strap around this new design, other wise this 100% glass container has NO support. Very disappointed. I also bought two NEW umbrella design 12months ago and 9 months ago, both umbrellas broke within two uses. Ikea is really making defective unreliable POOR designed products,
Hate to use the word "junk" with Ikea. But I have had very bad luck with both the new coffee press and two umbrellas. Also the new garment bag designs no longer have zippers. It appears, Ikea takes previously well designed products , that used to last and cheapens them to cost cut. My opinion is that they are producing junky products. I have always liked Ikea, but must make heavily use items like umbrellas and coffee presses durable. Products should last.
Beautiful and FunctionalValeenI love this coffee press! I’ve been using one that has permanent plastic pieces and is difficult to clean. This is a stylish upgrade and cleans up so each! Unscrew the knob and all the metal and glass pieces go right into the dishwasher! And did I mention how beautiful and classy it looks? Oh, and of course, the coffee brews up fabulous!

Pretty goodShukNice
Best CoffeeKarinThe flavor of this coffee is superior to any cup or drip system I've tried at home. It takes a few more minutes, and I had to look up what to do with all of the leftover coffee grounds, but well worth it.
GoodOsirisWorks as needed.
LoveRobertIt is great

Coffee pressRamonaIt works perfect and looks really pretty sitting out on the counter.
French PressDebraI am very happy with this French Press. It is completely stainless- no plastic! I like the cork base so it can be put directly on any surface.
