Here to update after 9 years of ownership PedroI bought this couch way back when it cost $599. I figured it would serve as a budget friendly functional couch. It has a minimalist look that can fit in with any decor. This couch has far exceeded my expectations and I’m here to report that after about 9 years it’s still great. I purchased different color Holmsund covers for it. The washing instructions recommend not to wash and dry them but I have and so far so good, at least for the older pastel color versions of these covers. I feel like this couch could easily last another 10 years no problem. As far as comfort, it’s firm but not uncomfortable, the storage is ample for pillows and bedding. Unfortunately the price has doubled since my purchase and at the new price point you may have different options to choose from since this no longer offers the value proposition that caught my attention 9 years ago. Would I buy this couch again? Yes even at the current price. 5
Squeaky w/useless pillows ParidI’m a handy person and I did a tight assembly of this sofa, within a week started squeaking like 100 year old house. I had to ad extra screws on the bottom to stop the annoying noise. Pillows are filled very lightly and offer no support whatsoever, I bought extra filling otherwise useless. I bought a foam to add on the backrest because the pillows were not staying as shown in the photo. Now the sofa makes sense but at least I had to spend another 200 extra to make these necessary adjustments. I have to say that it turns into a nice queen bed, and as a sofa it’s pretty spacious. 3
Pretty but disappointing RenataI love IKEA but this disappointed. At the store, I sat on the sofa AND on an open bed sample… I did feel the wood between the back and seat when it was open but it wasn’t bad. And it was firm but not STIFF. I’ve had it assembled now for 3 days and it’s still too stiff, the pillows don’t have ANY support and to boot the right arm won’t stay on - I assembled it by myself (have TONS of experience assembling IKEA) and reviewed the instructions 10X. The front wood slat is too wide and does not allow the arm to be attached properly to the lateral track. Materials have definitely deteriorated (I had a huge Soderhamn for over 10 years that I LOVED). So disappointed! Who has time for all this assembling and now how do I Return this thing?!?2
