No replacement canopy. MyriamDo not buy this product. The polyester fabric does not resist against high winds. There is no replacement available. The multiple customer “service “ responses fervently apologize for this. But I see that the item is still on sale (June, 2025). I’m just supposed to throw away everything I invested in and buy a new one? Because I have a money tree and we’re not in a climate emergency?1
Need canopy replacement for Hogon umbrella WdIKEA needs to sell the canopy replacement!!! I have had 3 of these. I always take down, wash, and keep the canopy in my closet during winter. But unfortunately, after all the care, the canopy still gets torn. Such a waste to throw away perfectly working frame. I bought 2 more because I like the color and the look so much. One of the canopy now is a bit ripped too. 3
Nice outdoor umbrella JennI managed to get this during the summer clearance event. You do need a weight to hold it down, luckily I had pavers. I bought the umbrella in store and it took almost an hour to be able to actually get it after paying for it.

No replacement canopyElizabethThe mechanism, ease of use, and set up is very easy but the white canopy gets very dirty and after a few. years, it doesn't get clean in the washer anymore. The fabric has also weakened due to sun exposure and tears very easily at the seams over time. There are no replacement canopies anywhere (checked amazon, wayfair, etc). so the base is now useless. If there were canopies available, it would be a great value. Otherwise, just trash in a few years once the fabric wears out.3
Don't buy, no serviceable parts when they break.AmandaInternal latch prong, the part that hold the canopy up is made from a cast metal. There was a casting flaw right at the 90° angle that is used as the catch mechanism. Casting stopped and the hole unit is now useless. Also no replacement canopys.1

Now Im stuck with a metal umbrella skeleton that would unfortunately end in a landfill because IKEA failed to produce a replacement canopy for it.1

DO NOT BUY THISDavidWe loved these umbrellas. They are very fairly priced, look really modern, fit our space perfectly, and worked well for two summers. But once the canopy starts to disintegrate in the sun, which it inevitably will, it's just a big piece of garbage that you'll have to get rid of, completely negating the price/value and their claim of being good for the environment by using recycled materials.
The solution to this would be if they sold a replacement canopy, which would be so incredibly easy to do, but they don't and haven't decided to rectify this for YEARS, so obviously it's not going to happen.
Do not buy this unless you want to have to buy a replacement in two years.2
Top joint came loose in less than a year! HareneThe umbrella looks nice and is easy to install. However, it doesn't seem built to last in Michigan weather. The screw connecting the umbrella at the top broke off, and I already see some signs of rust. Not happy with the purchase. 2

umbrella seams coming apartJillI purchased this two years ago, but only set it up last year. Unfortunately, when we opened it this year, there was a 10 inch gap on one of the seams. I've never had an umbrella come apart like that. We liked it last year.3

Nice constructionAllisonIt was easy to put together. I have cement blocks holding down the base so I didn't buy Ikea's base, but the blocks work just fine.
Opening & closing the umbrella is easy and the mechanism works well. There are several parts that are heavy duty plastic so we'll see how they hold up, but overall, so far so good.5
