Sticky trivetCallisaThis is a great trivet and I was hoping to use then as serving potholders on my dining room table for meals, but the barcode was applied to the trivet with a sticker. This sticker leaves a very sticky residue right in the middle the trivet when the sticker is removed. This residue would attract dust, dirt, and food leaving a perpetually dirty trivet which I would not want sitting on the dining room table at meal times. Unfortunately, I will have to return these very cute and high quality trivets. I would ask IKEA if there is another way to apply the barcode to this item. 3

What is cork?

Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
