You can just shake off water from a light rain, as the cushion cover is water repellent.
The cushion covers are dope dyed, a process that reduces consumption of water and dyestuff while improving color fastness compared to traditional dyeing techniques.
The cushion has a longer life because it can be turned over and used on both sides.
Easy to keep clean since the cushion cover can be removed and washed.
The firmness of the mesh fabric can be tightened/adjusted with the strap in the back.
Possible to separate for recycling or energy recovery if available in your community.

Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.
Store the sofa cushions in a cool, dry place indoors when the season is over, preferably in a storage bag or storage box to protect from dirt and dust. Make sure the cushions are completely dry before storing.

Inner cushion disintegratingEmeseLike MANY reviewers, my cushions are completely trash too after two summers -- even though the sofa (HAVSTEN 3-seater) and this chair is covered every day, all day except weekends. The cushions were kept inside during the hottest summer months (our family is gone during those months) and the cushions were kept inside in a dry storage during winter from Nov to April/ May. I need IKEA to provide a replacement at no cost, please. I have 8 cushions -- would cost at the moment $960 plus tax to replace all. What is even more disappointing, that IKEA does not even offer a replacement part, which I would have considered if at a reasonable cost, like $30 per insert. Swedish companies are supposed to be leaders in sustainability, well this is far from that. Please advise.1
CushionsMichelleThese cushions are super expensive.. they stain easily and when I went to take covers off to wash .. the insides just fell apart. I do love the furniture and it is comfortable. However I would not recommend. When I tried to return or exchange my cushions that fell apart . The store refused to work with me. 2
