BEAUTIFUL CABINETVeronicaThe cabinet was easy to assemble and is very sturdy. The cabinet doors have soft close hinges which is very nice.5
Great piece of furnitureBrendaI bought 2 of these and I love them. So much storage!5
Mostly GreatMichaelLike most IKEA products, this one is mostly easy to assemble. My one issue is with the holes for the door hinge screws. They're not remotely large enough, which makes screwing the hinges in very difficult. I had to place the unit on its side to get the screws started, and even then it's too easy to do it incorrectly and end up with doors that are too high or too low. Making the holes larger so the screws would start more easily would fix this and save a lot of frustration. Apart from this, the unit works exactly as it should.4

havastaDIANEI bought 2 cabinets and they are beautiful in my dining room!!!! they display my Fiesta ware beautifully!!5
We Absolutely LOVE our HAVTA Cabinets!DEBIFor the most part, they we very easy to assemble! We did have a bit of a hard time attaching the doors, but my ingenious husband put the instruction manual under the doors so that the holes line up correctly to screw them in securely!5
Very elegant and good qualityChavonI am using this cabinet as a bookcase. It is beautiful, elegant and good quality.5
A great shelf!JULIEI love this shelf. It was easy to assemble by myself except for the doors. Even with help it was hard to get the doors on because we couldn't see where the pre-drilled holes were while holding the door in place. Some of the finish on the inside ended up getting scratched off because we really struggled to get them lined up. The shelf looks really nice and is made from real wood instead of the particle board type of wood. I would definitely buy another one of these despite the struggle with putting on the doors.5
Love this piece!!!monicaAbsolutely gorgeous once assembled. The cabinet was super easy to put together, hanging the doors was a little tricky by myself. Looks great in my family room to display treasured items.5
Havsta entertainment centerJOSEPHI purchased this Havsta about a month ago and have been very happy with it. I have an oddly sized space beside my fireplace in my basement and this fit that space perfectly. Took a couple of hours to put together but wasn't to bad. I did cut some sections out of the back in order to provide ventilation and for cords to pass through.5
Great Cabinet BUT..MONICA P.I purchased 3 Havsta cabinets in December after taking quite a bit of time to find the right ones for my new space. The pieces look great in the space and are well made. BUT i just noticed that the back board on all three are discolored with what appears to be grey marbling and stains. The furniture pieces are not in directly sunlight, near a heat source nor is the humidity high. This is very disappointing and frustrating especially with the cabinet with the glass doors. I've never had an issue with Ikea furniture and surprised at what is happening. I will be reaching out to Ikea and hopefully they can provide a better quality back panel replacement. I went online and researched this issue and looks like this is an issue with certain back panels.4
Great looking cabinet, infuriating doors.Elizabeth S.This is a really nice looking cabinet once put together, and every step of assembly was pretty simple except the doors. One person has to hold a door perfectly steady to align the holes while another screws. The holes were incredibly tiny while the screws were very thick, making it nearly impossible to screw the doors onto the frame. Using a drill seemed iffy, like it might crack the piece. We had to use our own screws of the same size but with a pointed end. Once assembled, the doors needed adjustment to be even. The angle of one of these adjustment screws makes it very difficult to get at it head on and the screw ended up stripped. I've assembled a lot of flat pack furniture from Ikea and from other stores and I'd say I'm adept at it. I have never struggled this much with a piece before. I love the way it looks when finally finished and I needed this piece so I'm keeping it but for $400 I expected some better design decisions.3
ShelvesAbby W.Are the shelves adjustable height or fixed?5
Fits exactly where I wantedBlaineFits exactly where I wanted it to and holds more than I expected5
I love this cabinet! ItDarcyI love this cabinet! It was super easy to build and looks great in my home. I purchased three that are lined up in my dining room, filled with all my beautiful dishes and stemware. My only complaint would be that the paint is a flat sheen, and I worry about how well it will hold up against scratches and dings. A cabinet style paint would have been better.4
HavstaEVONNEEasy to put together and looks really nice. Exactly what I wanted5
Very niceGeraldine B.Just purchased this piece of furniture for my living room. It is just what I was looking for. Nice, solid, good quality, and great price. Used the Click and Collect option for pickup and it was organized and easy. I put this together by myself, except for the glass doors, which I needed some help. Very happy with my purchase.5
Great natural lighting and beautiful designSusanOur kids got one each to house their Lego sets. The glass doors and shelves help to keep the inside compartment well lit without shelf lighting.5
Parts damagedSherryPurchased and really like the item unfortunately one of the doors and a piece of the back were damaged. Went the very next day to have them replaced unfortunately they are out of stock. Have a unit that is half constructed waiting to be able to acquire replacement parts. It has been a month since the original purchase1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the tree species, it is durable, beautiful and renewable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood.
