HÅLLBAR bins are designed to meet different recycling needs. This bin is perfect for sorting things like cardboard, plastic, paper, bottles, glass, tin cans, envelopes and advertising mail.
HÅLLBAR bins are stackable to save space. Place same-size bins on top of each other or place smaller bins on top of the larger ones.
It is easy to access the bin even when stacked thanks to the included lid. It is hinged and can be opened in two ways.
A lid is included to hide your waste. It’s removable for easy cleaning or if you prefer to keep your bin open.

attaching the hinges was a puzzleLauraI finally resorted to AI to find out that Ikea doesn't include a really important piece of information. The reason the (R) and (L) appear on the hinges & stamped into the bin is that they SLIDE on horizontally from outside to inside on the bin. They do NOT clip into the bin. I had to attach them to the body (by sliding in), then clip the lid to them (which requires some force). Once AI helped with that, it's a breeze.

I bought this as a dorm trash canNicoleThis is my 2nd purchase of this item. I bought one for my home office trash can and now one for my kids dorm room. It's big enough for basic trash and not letting it pile up. I like the lid. It's held up a few years so that's why I bought another one. It has the piece to keep the trash bad in the can.
Came damaged.LynneThe right side was bent and the clips didn't simply click into place as described in the manuel. I like the size and use of a lidded can for trash. Just wish your staff had taken more time to pack the box properly with items wrapped and the box was properly tapped for secure shipping.
Just the right size for my cabinet pull outDavidThe bin feels solid and durable. It is just the right size to fit into my sliding IKEA kitchen cabinets. The only funky part is the ring that you can use to secure the bag to the bin. It is a loose square shaped ring with rounded corners that fits into the top of the bin. I had no problem figuring out how to use it but my family still hasn't figured it out. Overall, really like the bin.

Dog Food ContainerHannahWe use these for our dog food. Just throw the bag in and clip it down to reduce air exposure. This fits about a 7lb bag perfectly with room to spare.

Great for Home Office/Small Studio ApartmentMelI purchased this can for my office and it is perfect! The perfect size, great design, and with a lid so my dog cannot dig through the trash. Too small for Sektion CabinetStuartI just got an IKEA kitchen with the standard 24" Sektion trash pullout. It comes with 2 of these. They are too small for the cabinet and have so much extra space around them. Apparently, in other parts of the world they make a frame to hold them in place.
Upgrade needed, IKEA please make additional versions!CaseyBeen using these in a pull out cabinet for recycling and trash for several years. They work fine, in fact I have several in my greenhouse for soil storage, but in the kitchen, the tapered shape makes them a bit wobbly and the lids fall off frequently. Mostly, I’d love to see a stainless steel, touchless option. Better for odors and general hygiene. I can’t find something like that anywhere else that fits.

What do you expect from a waste bin?
Probably that it’s spacious and simplifies everyday life. Maybe that it’s also stackable to save room and flexible enough to go in the kitchen cabinet or stand directly on the floor.
