Revised reviewDonnyI gave this 2 stars originally now revising to 4. The side panels do fit - but the diagram was misleading. The base needs to be mounted with hollow end down. Once I changed this the side panels fit fine. I’m knocking one star off still because I will need to caulk the sides and also attach some more weather stripping and foam to the lid in order to improve the water tightness of the box. It is meant to store cushions but seeing the other comments makes me worry it might accumulate water. Also I will need to make sure that it is NOT level so that any water that does manage to get in will be able to escape. But it does seem very sturdy and can be sat on - and is cheaper than plastic storage boxes that cannot bear the weight of a human. And like one of the other reviews I wish this had a hinge. 4
Feels like panels were made too large for the unitDonnyI bought this because it looks great and the model in the store was sturdy when I sat on it. But putting this together was an awful experience. The only way I can see the side panels fitting is if they get bent. Otherwise it just looks like they made the panels 3-4 mm too tall to fit in this unit. How can anything like this end up in the store without testing in their design lab?2
Horrible-zero starsBrandiThis is the WORST item I have ever purchased at IKEA or anywhere. The sides are impossible to place- after 2 hours messing with one I took the frame apart to get one side in, only to have all the other sides bow when in place. Absolute garbage and will be returning. 1
Nice, but not great.PatrickThis storage container is nice, but it's not great. The way the sides are mounted is not great. You have to bend powdercoated metal tabs to secure the sides. Bending the tabs breaks the powdercoating, so now there's exposed metal to rust. This container is also not water tight in any way. So when leveling it out, make sure you put a pitch on it so that water can drain out instead of pooling inside.3
