Tricky to install, but nice mirrorLisaI just put this mirror up at the end of a hallway. You need to provide your own screw to install the knob holding the top of the mirror and another to attach to a bracket that you install behind the bottom of the mirror. The distance between the two screws is 35 15/64" and they need to be in line. There is a keyhole in the bottom bracket where you insert the bottom screw. The instructions don't tell you how far the bottom screw should protrude from the wall to secure the mirror. After trial and error, about 1/4" is correct. Per the other review criticizing the hanging knob, you absolutely have to hold the mirror at the knob while you secure it at the bottom bracket, because the button on the knob will easily release and the mirror will fall. So nice mirror - terrible installation process.4

Not safe.LucianaThis adorable mirror seemed perfect for my son’s room. However, upon hanging it, the mechanism that secures the knob is a tiny little metal ball that just pops out under the weight of the mirror with the slightest touch. Completely unsafe and it leaves this mirror useless. Zero stars. Can’t use it at all.1

What is mirror glass?

Mirror glass is made of mostly of ordinary glass with a reflective coating in some kind of metal. In the past it was common for the coating to contain lead or mercury – but over time, both of these metals have been shown to be harmful to people and the environment. That’s why, as of several years ago, IKEA has a total ban on using lead or mercury in our mirrors and instead it is non-toxic silver or aluminium that reflects your mirror image.
