Down and feathers are natural materials that sometimes have a slight smell. The smell is harmless and fades over time. Airing or washing , and drying it thoroughly in a dryer, helps the smell fade faster.

Perfect WeightAmberI shopped with my daughter for this in person. When I stay at her house, I get to sleep using it. I've wanted a down comforter for decades but never sure which to buy. I'm glad we did this in person or we'd never be able to tell what we wanted..we deliberated for a while in the store. This is not your typical thick hotel down comforter, BUT it's perfect! I am buying the same one for my bed at home. I have ADHD, and I hate most comforters (too cold, too light and slips all over the place, or too heavy and hot and I can't sleep). I need a little weight (and the crinkley sound and feel) but don't appreciate sweating (yep, ladies, I'm that age). I can't tell you how good I sleep with this comforter! Can't wait to get my own!5

Don't buyRavinaWe need to was this and when we did it soaked up so much water it was as heavy as a bucket of water. It would not dry in the drier so we wrung it. Water poured out for so long our arms were tired of wringing it. It will probably become moldy before it ever dries1

Material

How to care for your down/feather duvet

With a little care, you can prolong the life of your down/feather duvet and keep it fresh. The filling has a natural smell which can be reduced by airing or washing. Wash the duvet separately with a mild detergent (1/3 of the normal amount) on delicate cycle at 60°C. Avoid bleach/fabric softeners. Tumble dry immediately on low heat. A dryer ball or a high-quality tennis ball in the dryer will ensure more efficient drying. Air your duvet regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
