Product details
This comfortable sofa has pocket spring seat cushions with high resilience foam and a top layer of wadding. It provides a nice comfort and support for your body while maintaining the shape of the seat cushions.
The sofa's sections can be combined in different ways to get a size and shape that suits you. If you need a larger sofa, you can add a section or two.
The sleeper sofa has a 4¾" thick bed mattress in high resilience foam that provides comfortable support to your body and a smooth sleeping surface without disturbing joints.
The bed slats work together with the mattress to give a more flexible comfort and nice sleep support.
The sofa quickly and easily converts into a spacious bed.
The mattress is easy to keep clean since you can remove the mattress cover and machine wash it.
This cover is made of dope-dyed Gunnared fabric in polyester. It is a durable fabric with a wool-like feel, a warm look and a two-toned mélange effect.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it is removable and machine washable.

Best for guests and petsAsiyahI’ve had Ikea sofas for almost two decades. I always have pets, and having washable swappable covers makes Ikea my go to choice for long lasting sofas. My Finnalas have lasted years—since they first released!
So I finally swapped the main module of my configuration from sofa to sofa bed! Mostly glad I did. My full customization is now wider, and I have more room for guests. The covers on the new pieces match perfectly with the older sections, so didn’t have to grab another batch of slipcovers either.
Two issues though:
1) The back cushions are slightly less comfortable. My chaise has a similarly wide cushion but is much more substantial—thus much more supportive.
2) I really wish Ikea sold alternate legs. I can’t swap out the cheap black plastic ones for wood like I had previously. Due to the bed having its own legs, the height of the sofa legs need to be exact. Ikea, please sell alternatives, or in the future make the legs standard whole inch sizes so I can purchase elsewhere :)
Gunnared medium gray is blueWillThis is a good couch for the price. But I really wanted a gray couch, and the gunnared medium gray is not gray. It’s basically blue and goes with none of my furniture.
Mattress doesn’t fitMarcosI purchased this sleeper online from ikea. They supplied a mattress that is too long to fit back inside the sleeper mechanism. The black netting doesn’t allow it to fit and instead pushes it out into a long bulge running along the lumbar area of the sofa seating. Not sure why they’d send me something that doesn’t go with the sofa.
Cheaply made arm restsAnonymous reviewerThe armrests are made from low-quality compressed wood chips. The inner panel of the armrest broke just six months after purchase. After replacing it, another armrest also broke.
Despite light use, the couch now has a broken armrest.
Great sofabedChrisWe’ve had this couch for a year and use it daily. While renovating our bedroom, we finally got to try out the bed. The mattress is very comfortable but we found, with two people on it, it acted like a waterbed: one person moving, shook the other. A simple solution was to insert a double layer of cardboard (2x3 feet) on top of the wooden slats and that didi it. My suggestion would be for IKEA to include the extra cardboard or 1/8 panels to elevate the comfort level.
Undurable sleeping mechanismOscarTitle. The center beam of the bed frame is a belt used to prevent the bedframe from sagging overtime and ease of assembling/disassembling to couch/bed form. In tradition beds, this is a wooden plank. So in short time (<2 months), this belt snapped. As an averaged weighted person ~ 165lb I feel this bed mechanism is extremely flawed. Though I am unsure if it's a design flaw or I've just received a faulty mechanism. @ikea pls help. Other than that, the couch is very comfortable and the removable covers is a plus. But due to the undurable mechanism, I cannot recommend this. Especially for a $1500 loveseat.
Perfect sleeper sofaNatashaI spent a year researching sleeper sofas for my guest/office room. From Walmart to CB2/ Pottery Barn, Ikea won. Y'all, this sofa is incredibly comfortable and elevates the look of my room.
Really love this sleeperErinI got this sofa to accommodate guests (obviously). It has already been used by a guest who said it was very comfortable!! It's also very comfortable as a sofa as well. The sleeper mechanism is so smooth and easy to use-very good quality. I also love the way it looks.
One thing to note is that because of the metal frame associated with the sleeper portion, it is QUITE heavy. Make sure you prepare accordingly with the number of people helping/moving it/assembling.

Very happy with the Finnala sofa bedCarlI am very happy with the entire experience of purchasing this product, from the on-time delivery to the ease of assembling the product. I needed something like this since the door to the room where I needed it was somewhat narrower than "standard". Other brands stated I would need at least 32 inches, so again being able to have the separate components solved that problem.
