Broke on my first useRichardThe strap that holds the cap on snapped the first day I used it.
Don't buy theseCasseyI purchased this along with the kids stainless steel water bottle. I do not recommend this product. The water spout is a great idea but the cap is so tough to open and barely any water comes out of it.
GreatGregoryYou can chug water super fast out of this as long as you unscrew the lid some. It won't leak but it'll allow the smallest amount of air in to help you chug without sucking. The lid is amazing it's been 3 months and it's been working great for the gym. The price is right and it fits perfectly on my ikea bottle.
ConverterDebGreat idea to convert drinking bottle.......BUT THE SPOUT IS TO HARD TO OPEN AND CLOSE . Needs better design.
Avoid at all costsAnonymous reviewerWhen I saw this, I was excited 2 b able 2 use bottles w/o screwing/unscrewing the top. But the air inlet above spout, which is SUPPOSED 2 let the air go in as u drink does not work AT ALL. Only way 2 get water out of bottle into ur mouth is to suckle at spout intensely, till cheeks hurt, causing a horrible, disgusting sound. Also, doing that only gives VERY small drink, so to satiate thirst, u'll end up unscrewing top & regretting buying it, it because it doesn't work. Tried 2 trim back of the clear rubber piece that's there pretending 2 b air inlet, but that now makes water leak. I bought 4 of these, complete waste of money. Ikea, putting something 2 act as air inlet not the same as actually having proper working air inlet. Of course, Ikea will respond saying I have 365 days to return it. 1 - Closest Ikea is 2 hours away, returns are only in person. 2 - Having a year to return something is NOT an out or a proper response to bad, shoddy design and/or execution.
TerribleMeganItem broke within 20 minutes of being on bottle. Shattered plastic shards fell into water

PracticalClaraWorks as expected
Good but weirdLoriI like the base part because my kids can easily open. The cover attachment is awkward and is difficult for my kids to uncap. Decided to just remove it entirely.
Nominally a Sports LidGingerI wanted this cap to be better than it was. I could make it work, but it really should work from the get-go.
Like other reviewers, I found the lid difficult to drink from without modifying it. It's difficult to open the pop-up style nib--I had to use my fingernails (unsanitary) or teeth (bad for teeth and nib) to make sure it was up properly. I wish it popped fully open or closed.
The bottle is rigid, and the lid's rubber-plugged suction hole keeps you from drinking properly. I stuck a pin through the rubber plug and can drink from it alright, and it doesn't seem to leak upside down, but it shouldn't need a DIY to work.
The nib cover can be difficult to take off--definitely not a one-handed operation as described, and it can pull open the nib while removing, but I'd rather have a covered nozzle that doesn't spontaneously pop off than a non-covered one, I guess?
I do highly enjoy the side-style handle. Good for putting on belt holsters without the bottle bouncing against my leg.
Water cannot flow through itNicoleTL;DR: Good for hummingbirds but not thirsty people. Water cannot travel through the lid easily, and modifying it will make it leak when horizontal.
----
The lid fits on bottles that are not squeezable (hard plastic and stainless steel), so an airhole is needed to displace the pressure. I saw 1 big and 3 tiny airholes above the mouthpiece, plugged with a silicone seal from inside the lid. Unfortunately, removing that plug (it can be replaced later) also means the bottle will leak in your bag and on you if you tip it too far.
----
Obviously, this is not a complete solution unless you only use the lid in locations where the bottle stays upright the entire time—and who wants to keep track of a plug the size of a small earring? It's also very dissatisfying to take the tiniest bird sips of water if you don't remove the plug.
----
IKEA should redesign this lid, maybe with a hinge design to cover the airhole, or
Hard to openIvanalmost impossible to open the top lid.
Not very convenientIsabellaThis lid is not very convenient to use. Difficult to drink big sips of water when used with the IKEA 365+ water bottle.
