Nice for spice rack, wish measurements were accuratePhilThey are a nice sized jar and will look great on the spice rack. However I wish they had accurate measurements. It says 3" wide but is only 2-3/4" wide. That is about 16% less volume in the jar. Unlike their thinner counterparts, you can at least fit a measuring spoon inside of these jars.4
Cute jars, incorrect dimensionsPhilThe jars would look great on my spice rack if not for them being too narrow. They are listed as 2" wide and are in fact only 1-5/8" wide. This is 34% less volume inside the jar. A significant reduction to say the least. Too narrow to fit a spoon in.3
Great JarsKimberlyHighly versatile jars. Love how clean and organized the spice rack is with these glass jars.5
good overallJasmine Millerjars were great, seal on lid came out after first wash. Just have to remember to put it back in.4
Perfect size spice jarsHeatherI wanted to revamp all of my spices. Most spices go bad in about a year. I wanted to stop buying large jars and buy small amounts from the bulk section of my local grocery. These are perfect. They hold about 4 ounces and are easy to clean and refill.5
Not air / water tightJenniferWas looking for small jars to put liquids in. My husband picked these up and they are fine but not air / water tight. So be careful not to knock them over the narrow design makes them tricky to store as well.3
Gritty, glass-scraping feeling when screwing or unscrewing capFelixThere is a gritty, glass-scraping feeling when screwing or unscrewing the cap. This is happening because the threading area of the glass jar has a bumpy texture, in contrast to the smooth glass of the visible jar area. It seems like a tiny thing, but when you feel like you're going to break off tiny pieces of glass into your spices every time you open or close it, you wonder why such a detail was overlooked. Also, the mouth of the jar should be wider; these are tall, skinny spice jars. Standard spice jars in the US (when you buy spices at the store) give you a shorter but wider container, wide enough to let you get a teaspoon into them.2
Nice spice jarsBrigittaI use a lot of spices in cooking and wanted a more organized spice cabinet. These are lovely.5
Great sizeGeorgeMy wife has been using glass containers for herbs and spices that were formerly 6 oz boullion jars. There were some spices that we used frequently that needed a larger jar. These fill that bill. Since some spices stain the gasket material, I’d like to have some spare seal rings for these jars.5
Bring back the Ortfylld!ClaireThese ones do the job, I guess, but not like their predecessors. The Ortfyllds were probably discontinued due to lack of profit which has been made apparent in the design of their replacements. The tops on are garbage and difficult to use, don't create a good seal, and feel flimsy overall. I'm so sad Ikea discontinued the old ones, I would have gladly paid more to keep them around.2
3oz Spice Jars - A Bit Too SmallTammyI've spent a lot of time trying to find spice jars with a silicone seal like these. These were the best value ones I've found. Wish the mouths were a little larger - standard circular measurement spoons will not fit, you will need narrower oval or rectangular ones. Also, wish these were 1 oz bigger - many of my store-bought spices are 4 oz. Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods 365 spices are 3 oz and fit well, La Flor, Penzeys, and Spice House are 4oz. 4
good size, easy to cleanRebeccathese are the right size to hold larger quantities or spices and ingredients. They don't take up a lot of space and the straight sided design makes them easy to clean and to get every last bit of ingredients out of the jar. 5
Good qualityHyunPractical and cute5
Quality is good but lids are not easy to open and close. SureshQuality is good but lids are not easy to open and close. Price wise they are fine.4
