I was so excited……and then I wasn’t 😕AmandaI’ve been looking for a whole year for the perfect shelves for my boys and our bathrooms and I thought I finally found them yesterday walking around IKEA. They were long enough, were completely in closed so nothing would fall out the sides but also glass to let the light shine through. I was jumping for joy all the way to checkout. Got home to install them but quickly realized that non of the metal bar parts are made square/level/straight (however you want to put it) and you can’t bend them into place. How are these supposed to safely hold glass if one side isn’t level with the other? And yes, all 4 that I bought were like this. I am so very sad because these were just what I was looking for 😕
Was note easy to install. MariaI have never been so frustrated with an installation of an ikea product. Leveling was not easy. Setting the screws was not easy and the setting screws were not included. If IKEA could provide a template for the screw holes installation would be much much easier. It’s a great product but I cannot say it was an easy install.
Pain to installVanessaWe made a template from shelf #1 but it was useless on shelf #2 because the brackets were not aligned from one to the next. Glass shelf does not sit flat on the pegs on one shelf even though the rail registers as level. On the other shelf the glass wouldn’t fit at all - had to take the rail off the wall to bend it a bit to get the glass to “sit.” The brackets themselves don’t have enough wiggle room to adjust for level. We thought we would put up 5 shelves across all the bathrooms but stopped at 2 and will return the other 3. They look nice and hold what we wanted but not worth the effort.
Functional added shelfMeNew shelf provided convenient access to outlet for my elec toothbrush and other electronics. Surprised that screws for hanging were not included. I hung on a tile wall in a bathroom.
