Plastic feet protect the furniture when in contact with a damp surface.
The furniture has been pre-treated to be better protected against sun, rain, stains and other wear and tear.

The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly, not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary, and re-staining it on a regular basis.
Clean: Use a mild soapy solution. Wipe dry with a clean dry cloth.
Maintenance: To prevent the surface from drying out and cracking, and moisture from penetrating into the wood, we recommend you to re-stain the furniture on a regular basis, for example once or twice a year.
Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.

Beautiful but already cracking after 9 monthsDeanReplaced this outside on our deck underneath a covered awning. Directions state to seal it yearly and I'd already purchased the sealant to seal it this summer. Already multiple cracks are all over the table including the legs. Instructions don't say how to have it covered, just to cover it. I assumed this was partly to protect against Sun as well. If I would have known it was so fragile, I would have sealed it the second we got it to our home. Instead, we now have unsightly cracks all over the wood.2
Terrific tableMarkReceived this table today and assembled it immediately...in about an hour. I'm so impressed with the way each solid-wood piece was well wrapped and protected, how all the hardware aligns with each hole, with all screws seated in well-drilled holes and threaded into metal grommets. The finished table is sturdy, tight, and solid—no swaying or sliding. In other words, it feels like old-time IKEA quality and seems like it may actually last a long time (provided we don't leave it out all winter). If so, this table is a terrific value.5

Great Quality - perfect sizeAnitaI have two of these tables - one with 6 larger chairs (and can put two smaller extras to have 8 seated) and another one with 8 of the foldable outdoor Ikea chairs. It's great quality, one of them is two years old and holds up really well, the second one we just got, but just as good as the first one. It's easy to clean, has a protective layer so stains don't soak in. It was pretty easy to put together. I'd definitely buy again - and I did :)5
