Great plant cabinet!AliciaHad it shipped. Arrived nicely packed. Quite easy to assemble although I had to use my own screws for the shelf brackets because IKEAs screws kept stripping. But it's nicely made with sturdy glass. I fitted mine out with weatherstripping, grow lights and fans to create a plant cabinet for my tropical plants. I absolutely love the aesthetic. I went on to purchase the Milsbo Wide and the Akerbar terrarium too! My "planty world" is now complete!
Not a robust display solutionJamesIt’s obvious many corners were cut in terms of quality control when this product was designed. If you were hoping for a detolf replacement this isn’t it. The sizing is much smaller and overall the unit feels of lower grade materials but at a higher cost then detolf was. The rear glass panel is held in via two plastic wedges and two nubs on the bottom platform; some may find that it will not sit perfectly flush with the metal frame. Unlike the old awesome detolf, which had clear glass all the way around, the metal frame of this unit acts as a visual obstruction at the corners, so generally don’t plan on displaying anything diagonally. The door is not designed for optional left or right mounting, so will always open from right to left; plan for that in your space. Finally maybe the biggest drawback, these units come with 3 glass shelves that hold approx 7lbs each. Don’t break them because IKEA won’t sell you replacements, meaning you also cannot add additional shelves for smaller items.

Horrible to assemble; quality is poorBrittnyI am fairly new to Ikea so I wasn’t able to enjoy the older furniture pieces that were better quality. This item, however, was horrible to assemble. I followed the instructions about proper alignment. Make sure you have a balance measure tool because perfect alignment is important. The back panel was literally impossible to align because it was manufactured so poorly. It’s crooked and requires a lot of effort in getting the perfect alignment just to secure them with the screws. This was so frustrating for the most part because these panels were so poorly made.
But of course, IKEA will respond to these low ratings with the generic “we are sorry but you can return the item” replies. As long as they are making profit, they will continue to cut corners until they officially lose customers. I think they lost me for good. I’ve had issues with several other pieces that I have bought here and I don’t think I’ll spend premium prices for dollar store quality.

Looks really nice, but frustrating build and bad QAArminThe cabinet looks very nice fully assembled, but I had three major issues, one of which made this impossible to complete if I didn't find a workaround. The first, like everyone else is saying, is the back panel clips are very, very annoying to get in. Second, the door on mine opens slightly down; unless I pull up hard on the cabinet door handle as I open it, it digs into the carpet and wont open and even then its still not smooth. Third, which is the worst, the hole for the handle wasn't punched out in the correct spot, meaning the supplied screw could not tighten without putting a ton of pressure on the side of the glass (which they point out in the manual is bad and can shatter the whole thing). Fortunately I had other m4 screws so I had a replacement, but the smallest screw head I could find barely fit and I was lucky to find one that worked
Worse than the DETOLF in every wayMatthewThis cabinet is smaller than the DETOLF, has worse fitment, but costs the same as the DETOLF did. The back glass panel barely fits, took me 30 minutes to an hour of messing with it to get it to fit. The pegs that screw onto the door hinges to top them off don't screw all the way down. The door is crooked. The screws for the magnets that keep the door shut do not fit properly in the holes drilled for them. Putting the walls of the cabinet up are easier than the DETOLF, but everything else involved in the assembly ruin the build experience. Along with the significantly smaller size, this makes the BLALIDEN a worse product than the DETOLF in every way.

Absolutely PERFECT!!!RosePurchased 2 to create a small Lego Display entertainment center for a sunroom space. The case allows the Lego sets to be displayed without getting dusty. I was also able to easily line each shelf with solar copper lights which enhanced the entire display. Couldn’t be more proud of the creation!!!

No Light?!?SaninIm looking at the 3D photos and it shows a light. I figured it would come with a light. However. There was no light in the box. I’m assuming this was a sold separately feature? I don’t see anywhere in the description that you have to purchase the light separately. Was I supposed to get a light?
Not even closeRebeccaHello, I have not bought these cases yet, I have 5 of the old one these are replacing. Why are they 5 in shorter and not as wide. I have all 5 of my cabinets against one wall, I need two more cabinets and I can't put them next to the ones I already have. And after reading these reviews I know the size difference isn't going to be the only thing that bothers me. Very disappointed Ikea shopper. Why did you change the design so much?

A nightmare to assemble RicardoI’ll keep it short and simple a complete utter nightmare to assemble. The screws wouldn’t fit in the tiny holes, Unless you had a perfect angle the instructions were unhelpful. All in all I would not recommend this product buy it premade it’s gonna save you in the end.
Pleasantly surprised actuallyLynnMy husband has 16 of the Detolf cases for his toys... We were happy to see somewhat of an alternative with these cases, but when reading the reviews they sounded disappointing....So after putting one together these are some thoughts.....It wasn't that difficult to put together...(He did take some tips from reviews and buy a bit longer screws and glued on the magnets for the door) They are definitely a smaller case..Shorter and not as wide...Pretty sturdy, not wobbly...The price was right...(In fact that's how much the Detolf's were when we started buying them.. ) For a plan B they work for us... At this point he was happy to find an alternative...
A worse DetolfBrittneyYou came here looking for a Detolf. They don’t make those any more, and this was presented as an alternative.
You’ll look at it and think “oh, the framing is nice! It’s a little smaller than my Detolf but I can pick where the shelves go!” And consider buying it.
Don’t. You will live to regret it.
Since my full description is too long: here’s a summary of the issues:
The little shelf holders screw into the inside corners. This step is after you’ve built three sides of the box. You will have to wedge both arms into this tiny space to do this, and hope you don’t have a slot that’s too small for the screw.
You will screw three magnets to the back of the door. The screws are too big for the holes. The screws also go *through* the magnets, making this a far harder task than it should be.
The screw for the handle is inset in the hollow of the door. Don’t drop it!
If I could go back in time and tell myself not to buy this I would.
Bad design, nightmare to put together in some parts.DarrenIKEA used to be good, but assembly for this product was a nightmare. Trying to screw some parts (door magnets and back end glass) were impossible. Spent 3hrs trying to fix. Never managed to. Poor design. Cabinet top had dents in it. For this reason would not recommend.
