Would not repurchase this itemCarolIKEA does not provide instructions to put the complete unit together as shown. This is ridiculous. No, I do not want to pay TaskRabbit an extra 200 hundred dollars to assemble it, so that IKEA does not have to bother to produce an assembly guide. It's reasonably nice looking, but this is just silly.2
I can find junk on the side of the road of a higher qualityMatthewMy $550 got me $20 worth of product. The doors were missing their hardware. Not that it matters the entire bookcase has no structural integrity. The bookcase, once fully assembled, sways back and forth a full 2 inches. If I was to install the doors the lean of the bookcase would not allow for proper operation of the doors. Not to mention the feet pictured in the listing do not match what it ships with. This is hands down the worst product I have ever bought.1
Incredibly difficult to assembleAdamI've been putting together Ikea furniture for 25 years and I've never encountered anything so difficult to put together. As other commenters have stated the backing panel is very frustrating to keep in place when assembling and it took me over 30 minutes to get past that step alone. In addition if when you complete the installation if the doors aren't completely aligned it is borderline crazy how hard and how many steps it takes to straighten them (Google for more details). That said, once you have finished the installation it is a very sharp and sleek looking cabinet. I still can't possible recommend it due to the frustration it took to get there. 1
Clean, Sleek, Modern Unit to Display Order and Hide MessMariahThis is a fantastic product, partially because it's part of the super well-made Besta line. The units feel solid, the doors look gorgeous, and everything fits together seamlessly. Having all kinds of storage options to fit inside perfectly isn't half-bad either. I highly recommend. Put your orderly things on one side and hide all your mess in the other. Also, the doors open and close so smoothly!5
Poor quality, returnedKathleenWe returned these as they were poor quality and cheap material. Like the other reviewers mentioned, the plastic screw clamps are cheap and flimsy, and the entire unit did not seem very stable. We immediately disassembled, packaged back up and returned. Note you have to pay $129 return pickup fee, so in total we spent $260 for delivery and pickup. I probably would not have ordered if I knew I would be out $260 after returning the item. They are fairly cheap in price, so I was not expecting super high quality, but I do not think these are even really functional.1
Great storage and displaySusanI bought two of these and they fill the wall like they are custom pieces. I display books and store seasonal/extra decos.5
Wishful thinkingAnonymousWe just bought this and it seemed like it would be perfect for what we need. However, overall design is pretty poor. It’s wobbly and no way to stabilize it unless you are definitely attaching it to the wall. We had higher hopes for this considering the cost.2
Assembling this was a struggleAliAssembling this was a struggle. It took a lot of guesswork. The instructions available online aren’t complete. I feel like we’re going to be straightening the doors forever.2
Love itAnonymous reviewerWe bought this for our mud room storage and couldn't be happier. Took awhile to assemble but the instructions are easy to follow. Every thing came together well. The hinges fit and are easily adjustable. We've been buying Ikea furniture for 20 years and every piece we have is still working really well. For the price Ikea furniture is perfect. It's hard to find style like this for this price. I don't mind having to assemble. It's not hard if you know the basics.5
