The worst quality IKEA product I've ever purchasedBillI'm honestly floored at how poor the quality is compared to almost any other IKEA product, maybe save the $20 side tables that are mostly paper. The issues? It's just flimsy and imprecisely manufactured. The corner joints are the main issue. I had difficulty getting the posts secured into the vertical sides so much that there was a 1mm air gap on one side. Had to basically over tighten it. Even with shelves in, it's unable to resist the sideways force of a finger without wobbling. It can flex over 1 cm horizontally on the taller frame. That means someone bumping into it might be enough to rip out the corners or make the unit fail and your doors are never going to be properly level. I'm looking at adding additional bracing and all sorts of other things that shouldn't be needed in a quality product, much less one that costs as much as it does with a shelf, door, and hinges. Oh, and one of the edges was crushed and it's just hollow plastic. Embarrassing quality and vlaue.1
Difficult to hangBarbaraIt’s absolute horror to hang if you want to connect multiple cabinets. You can’t buy long suspension rails to connect two or more, With these, each cabinet has its own short rail with connectors which are cheap and flimsy. Whoever designed these rails and the way to connect shouldn’t have this job. Why make stuff so complicated ? They have such a simple system to hang kitchen cabinets I know, because I’ve purchased cabinets for three kitchens previously. Because of how everything is made today, very low quality and costs more draws me to decision not to make any more purchases from IKEA any more. This place used to be the place where you can get affordable items which were made way more sturdy that they are today.1
Mudroom ReadyKimberlythis goes great on the seating I picked from IKEA made a beautiful mudroom.5
Worst IKEA purchase ever!JayaramI was very disappointed with the quality of these shelves. They are not the same quality as other IKEA products that I own. Firstly, the locks that hold the cabinet walls together are made of plastic! They don't hold as tightly as the metal ones that came with my furniture and I doubt their sturdiness. Second, the mounting rails for the wall did not align with the triangle brackets on the cabinet and they kept falling out causing the cabinet to fall. I checked the rail with a laser level and the wall is flat. Finally I had to use a crowbar to bend them enough to fit on the rail. I drilled a hole for cable management and discovered that the walls of the cabinet are hollow! The material is a few millimeters of cardboard, not even MDF. Don't waste your money on these.1
Hard to screw inYatningIncredibly hard to screw things in.2
Looks goodBeverleyEasy assembly as usual!5
Nice cabinet for under TVDanielSmooth clean minimalist look. The only problem I have is that the leg mounting nuts are not straight. Not really noticeable with the included legs but when I installed the Osarp 3 ⅞ legs they are crooked with no way to adjust4
Difficult to assembleJanetWith a bad wrist, I struggled terribly trying to assemble this. It is a lovely piece of furnature, but not being able to use a power drill makes this piece not for people with issues. I still don't have the doors on all of them.3
Surprisingly low qualityKomnieveWe added wooden doors, hinges, and shelves to this which were all excellent quality. The frame, however, is surprisingly cheap. I wonder if it can handle any weight. Our total for two fully configured came to about $800. Would have happily paid $100 more to get a higher quality frame.2
Quality deterioration - Worse than made in China now?BillyNot sure what happened, but I bought 2 of these 3-4 years ago, even stack them on each other and they were solid. I just bought one more and was surprised to see that the shelf is now wiggling after assembled. The part that was holding the metal stakes are now made of plastic, and the tolerances are still off. Honestly, this is the worst furniture that I have put together in the past 20 years, including many cheap shelves that I’ve bought from Walmart that’s made in China. Very disappointing.1
White oak color looks more gray than in photoKiranI wasn’t able to see this in store so I ordered based on the look online and the white oak color is much more gray looking than the warm golden color online. It doesn’t match with my other shelves I had to purchase from a different store.1
Space saver cabinetDebbieGreat for my space, slim and well made. Very happy5
UnstableHannahThe most wobbly bookcase, not worth it. Regret my purchase but we live too far away to return. 1
Flimsy JenniferThis thing is absolute junk. Wobbles like crazy.1
Sways side to side due to plastic cam nutsFranBuilt this cabinet yesterday and the cam nuts provided are plastic not metal. Once it was built and the center shelf installed to try to stablize it per the directions, the unit still had a side to side sway. The cam nuts provided are plastic and do not hold the screws tightly as they should. We had to go online and purchase some metal cam nuts from another vendor which will hopefully stablize it. Very disappointed with this product as compared with similar Ikea products we have purchased previously which had metal cam nuts.2
Bests WooblyTaraI wish I read the reviews before I bought this. It’s woobly and I can’t line everything up. First time I regret a purchase from IKEA. I also can’t find my receipt to return it: 2

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
