Not holding up wellRyanAs of writing this review my cabinets have been in use 8 months. My units are installed outdoor under a covered pavilion. While mostly protected from rain and sunlight, some rainwater still reaches them. As others have mentioned, water easily gets inside the cabinets. Also, there is some type of coating on the stainless steel tops which has begun flaking off. I don't have high hopes that these will last much longer.
Do not buyKathleenPurchased in March and the finish has on top has already started to come off. Definitely not stainless steal on top. It looks terrible and I never would have spent $1800 for the island if I'd known.
Very misleading marketingMarkDespite the marketing saying this is great for outdoors, the inside fills with water any time it rains. Unless your outdoors is different than mine, I wouldn’t recommend you waste your time or money here

Buyer beware stainless tops are a messAnonymous reviewerWe bought a whole kitchen set 1 month ago, 2 grand later and it looks like the stainless steel tops are 10 years old! I contacted customer service and they have still yet to get back to me (it’s been 2 weeks) as to why my tops are peeling!!!! And no it’s not the protective covering that was already taken off, this hazy plastic covering comes off when wet and is near impossible to scrap off it’s a nightmare. I’ve googled to see if this happened to others and it has and they say ikeas response is they don’t know, not good enough for me!! Stop selling this until you figure out your tops, it’s fraud!!
Nice product but!JosephThis is a nice unit (product line) considering the price point. i looked at it in the store before buying and is considerably better quality than the Grillstar. The price however means that the stainless steel still subpar and scratches when breathed on wrong. Ikea should at least disclose the type of steal or confirm an Nsf rating. Water really gets inside. i have everything in storage bins to keep things dry then dry off the lids after a storm. The metal which the screws holding the doors is thin and can easily strip. Integrated nuts and bolts should have been used here. The doors are not fully adjustable. i have a perfect level and cannot get them aligned. There are stainless steel bolt holes on the back of the cabinet for accessories. These are visible unless you have against a wall.
Outdoor furnitureToniI love this piece! We have an outdoor kitchen but just needed some more space to use to catch all our extra things. Made very well and looks great.
Great outdoor cabinetJoanGreat as is but could use improved door hinges that are more adjustable (you can adjust in-out and left-right but not up-down). Very sturdy. We bought two so learned assembly tricks on first that helped with the second - pictures a little confusing on first several steps. We only loosely tightened screws until we knew we were correct then tightened when we began with side panels and top. Definitely takes 2 people to build.
Just Buy it! DonnaWe love our new outdoor kitchen! It's a great price point for the quality of furniture that it is! Our only negative was the terrible instructions are for installation.
*I do wish the two grill styles were interchangable or offered similar options. We wanted the separate single burner with cabinet but this model doesn't offer it. Also a corner piece for the bar height would give us more options to design a bar. Hopefully, they will be offered in the future. We do 100% recommend these pieces for your space!
Great Quality BillyGreat quality of super affordable price. We really wanted outdoor cabinetry that can hold its own in the weather and everything we found online was 3000 or 4000 more. This is a great deal and worth the price.

For Gunilla and the team it was important to bring the aesthetic aspect outdoors. What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.
