Sleeper Section Not StableSergioThis couch has been very disappointing. The sleeper section unlatches every time it is deployed. It has become unusable for us as a sleeper sofa—every time we have guests over they complain that the couch comes apart. We don’t use it as a sleeper anymore as it feels unsafe for our guests.1
Looks good but poor qualityMichaelLove IKEA what a great concept. We bought this with hopes of good quality but as I assembled this it turned out out to be poor quality. Definitely not worth the money. I was able to return it and for that I'm thankful. IKEA itself I would give five stars just for the customer service. Unfortunately $1,000 doesn't buy much today in a couch.1
BARSLOV SUPERFAN!!TaylorI LOVE this sleeper sofa. Many reviewers state the sleeper is unstable. To them I say- you haven’t assembled it correctly! Pay extra attention on the direction of the hooks you install to catch the sleeper and secure it. They must be positioned correctly for it to work.
This is my living room sofa and spare bed, as I only have one bedroom in my apartment. It’s held up perfectly over the 6mo i’ve had it. My cat regularly sleeps on one of the cushions and it hasn’t sagged as bad as I expected. I foresee myself keeping this sofa until it’s rags. It fits my needs perfectly. :-) Much better quality and comfort than Friheten. 5
Disappointing Sleeper FunctionalityVanessaThis couch is a great size for my small living room, and its overall look and feel are excellent. However, my main issue, and a very frustrating one, is with the pull-out sleeper bed. The sleeper section becomes unattached the moment anyone tries to sit on it, making it completely unusable.
My partner and I have spent considerable time trying to fix it, but nothing has worked. The inability to use the main feature we purchased the couch for is incredibly disappointing. This significant flaw makes it difficult to recommend.2
sleeper part is not stable HaiqingThe sleeper section is not locked into a place when pulled out. I went to the store 2 times and called customer service 5 times (with hours wait in line). One time the customer service told me it’s the wrong part they would arranged to ship it to me. I waited a month and never happened. Then I went to the store they gave me the same part as what I had at home. The sleeper section is now rolling around all the time and can’t be used to sleep. Please reconsider your decision on this sofa!1
Pick your battleJuliannaWe bought this sofa for our living room because our family enjoys spending time together watching movies. Having company often, having a couch with the capability of becoming a bed was appealing. We love how comfortable the couch is, and we find the fabric very easy to be cleaned. The storage space is nice, and we use it often. Our one, biggest, most frustrating complaint, is that the pull out section of the couch becomes unlatched. The storable pull out section of the sofa is intended to be locked into place when it is slid out from underneath the main couch. Once locked into place, you can lift the section to make it even with the rest of the surface. Ours becomes unlatched and rolls all the time. We have tried to make sure we have latched it properly prior to lifting the section or we relatch it and still faces issues with it staying intact. We’ve had it come apart as we get onto the sofa, as we are pulling it out, and cannot seem to find a way to get it right every time.4
Dangerous ⚠️RachThis sofa is dangerous! The sleeper part keeps separating no matter how many times you put it back properly! The slightest touch can dislodge and separated from the rest of the sofa, making it hazardous and dangerous when you’re sleeping or lying down falling through the middle, Even the smallest child will fall through! So it’s not a weight or size limit thing, it’s a poor design and hazardous thing!. This was for a guest room and can’t use it because it’s dangerous1
Great sofa. Nicely firm.KushagraI sleep on the sleeper sofa more than I sleep on my bed :) 5
Good sofa, just one minor flaw. JeniferI bought this a couple weeks ago. Assembly wasn’t too hard. I can see how others had an issue with the trundle, but again as others noted, I think it was assembled incorrectly on their end.
It looks great, I love the color. It is a bit firm, but I think that’s pretty standard in most IKEA sofas.
I use it as a bed and it’s not awful but could be more comfortable. I think I’ll add a mattress topper.
The storage in the chaise is huge, I’m able to store all my bedding, mattress cover, 3 pillows, sheets and a blanket! Super convenient for a really small space.
My only issue is the depth of the sofa portion. It’s very, very narrow and I’m only 5’5”. I couldn’t imagine a taller person sitting comfortably on this for very long. You can fix this by just pulling out the trundle to lounge more. But I do wish it was a tad deeper in the depth. 4
Great Sofa BedNellyGreat size(queen sofa bed. . Very comfortable and storage is a plus. 5
Fulfilled a needMarieThis is exactly what we needed to accommodate our granddaughter when she comes to visit. And the price was great!5
Wish I hadn'tWillBought this for a new apartment. It was cheap and I thought it looked pretty. Assembled without too much difficulty. While I do like the storage and pull-out functionality, and it's fairly comfortable for sleeping, for regular sitting I kinda hate it. Not very comfortable and doesn't have enough depth for me to curl up on. I wish I'd gotten something different.2
Love this couch!ShellieThis couch is perfect for our family movie nights!5
LOVE this sofaTerriThis was easy to assemble and love the versatility to pull out as a sleeping area or allow other guest to have their feet up as well.5
Pull-out function does not workKyleWe found this couch more comfortable than others in the store, however after assembling the whole thing came to find out the hinging mechanism was screwed slighly crooked from the cushion element of the pullout portion. This makes it impossible to put back into the regular couch position once pulled out. This manufacturing error was so slight, but has be so annoying to deal with1
comfortable, attractive BarslovKristin This couch is comfortable as a couch and as a bed. We used it for guests and then used it ourselves for a month until we got a proper bed. Now, we use it mostly for lounging and watching TV. It's super easy to pull out the extra piece and put it back when we're done to keep the room looking nice. The shade of aqua-gray is lovey! Cozy, friendly piece of furniture.5
FairRachelWe like this couch, including its functional abilities. The one thing we don’t really like is that the left side feels like it’s sinking in already, and it makes it seem like you’re gonna slide down. 3
Good couch, bad service JessicaListen- I like this couch. Its a little stiff at first, but it wears in. And the storage is awesome. BUT--- if something happens to one of the cushions, Ikea is LESS THAN HELPFUL in getting it replaced. And it shows dirt quickly, even after I scotchguarded it. I had high expectations and was sadly disappointed 2
SO UNCOMFORTABLEOliviaI really loved this couch....in theory. Great price for the pull out and chaise storage. However, the sofa is extremely uncomfortable. When I sat on it in the store, I swear they were different back cushions than what was delivered to me. I have had the couch for 3 months and have tried fluffing the cushions, but it's still so uncomfortable I get back pain if I sit on the couch too long. I'm so disappointed because my previous couch was far more comfortable (it was an IKEA Karlstad, so one of the cheaper options). I would not recommend this couch unless you have the time/money to replace the back cushions. 2
okay first couchJackelyneThis is my very first couch of my own it great for small spaces. the only problem is that when you pull out the bottom it will not stay connected to the rest of the couch when laying on it the pull out part will always separate creating a hole3
