Read this before attempting assembly!SandraI have assembled multiple Ikea pieces, and this was a challenge! (The directions are BAD.) My struggle is to your benefit...
Overall, be careful of which way you hold the pieces. Many of them have an unfinished edge meant to go in the back!
Do NOT overtighten the white plastic latchy things.
Assemble the drawer (starts at step 40) FIRST. This cuts down on the total number of pieces right off the bat.
Step 1- Make sure the sliders are going the right direction.
Step 5- The shorter rectangle goes in the middle.
Step 8- Be sure the small piece goes on facing the correct direction.
Step 20- That plain rectangle is the back and is meant to SLIDE under the piece.
Step 30- Use the nail holder to make sure your nails go into the center of the "wood".
Step 31-32- It's easier to put the magnet into place with the unit still upside-down.
Step 48-49- Make sure BOTH sliders are lined up before putting in the screws.
Take your time, and may the force be with you! It does look good once it's done.
No one here knows how to build furnitureMackenzieAll the one star reviews are by people who A. didn’t get a second person to help them B. probably don’t own a drill (would highly recommend for this) and C. don’t read instructions thoroughly. It’s not that hard just get a friend and a drill and be patient. you got this, i love her so much <3
ChallengingMeaganGreat price. Good size and style. Challenging build. If you're handy and experienced building IKEA furniture, go for it. If you want to question your choices in life, go for it. Otherwise, the time and frustration to assemble are not worth it.
Absolutely perfect!EliseI was looking for something to replace a vanity in my room that I no longer used, and this popped up in my search after looking in the store and then online. It is quite literally the exact thing I was searching for: nice, casual storage cabinet that had shelves, but also drawers and a door, a bit shorter than a dresser, and it needed to fit in the space between my bookshelf and closet (preferably the same width as my vanity). It fits exactly perfectly and looks great in my room! ONE thing went wrong during the assembly, and it was one of the knobs (the metal bearing inside that allowed for it to be screwed in wasn't secure and detached as I was assembling). I tried to glue it with super glue, which unfortunately made it worse, and ended up cementing the bearing into the wood😅. I just super glued the handle onto the screw and wood, and it's holding fine now, so crisis averted! Be sure to check the handles (and the screws for them), but otherwise I am fully satisfied!
Right size, right function PeterThis cabinet was perfect for the troublesome space alongside our refrigerator. At first we questioned whether the arrangement of drawers/shelves/were wrong but once we got itin place and loaded with bits and bobs it’s perfect.
Great cabinet for our foster cat room! JessicaI needed a cabinet for storage and to keep the scale on in our foster room. This one fits our needs perfectly and the price can't be beat! I found assembly to be straightforward despite being overwhelmed initially by the number of parts. I assembled it myself without issue and it's holding up well after a few weeks of use!
Avoid this product. The price doesn’t make it worth the trouble and stress.Anonymous reviewerThe pieces are cheaply made material, which makes sense considering it’s around $50 for the product. The instructions for assembly are HORRIBLE. They are extremely inaccurate and misleading and it’s very easy to make mistakes with the way the instructions are made. The worst part of this product is that the assembly is reliant on you having spare parts from other sets or your own screws/nails instead of providing them. There is also an issue with the screws that are used in the center to hold the entire middle and prevent the sides from disconnecting. The pieces do NOT fit in the holes, are extremely loose, and you cannot trap them with the screw either. Another issue is some pieces are stuck permanently in spots you put them in, making this assembly extremely punishing for putting the wrong pieces in place despite the instructions being awful. The door hinge piece is permanently stuck in and I accidentally put the door in wrong too, so now it doesn’t work. This is a horrible product.
Maybe one of the worst IKEA pieces I’ve had the misfortune of putting togetherLanceI’ve put together dozens of IKEA furniture items. The cheap plastic pieces, shoddy particle board, poor fit, and worse than usual instructions make this “deal” a complete waste. Get a different product line if this is the norm. Sucks that returning is such a pain (plus, we would end up having to build a different cabinet). 0 stars.
