The rim of the wash-basin lies above the countertop (sold separately) while the rest sits below. This solution creates valuable counterspace for bathroom essentials.

Made of crushed marble which enables sharp, crisp edges with a scratch-resistant surface. This gives the wash-basin a clean and modern look.

Use the space on the wash-basin to place toothbrush holder and soap dispenser.

To enhance your style, pair with a countertop and mixer tap of your choice, sold separately.

it's basically plasticAnonymousI wish I had known that it's a mix of polyester and crushed marble. I drove all the way down to my local Ikea because I kind of assumed this would be porcelain, like most of their other sinks. On display, I quickly noticed how plasticky it feels, and it was lightly scratched up. If you dig down into the safety specs, it says that it can't come into contact with ammonia, acids, strong detergents, hair dye or chlorine. so basically... no windex, bleach, hair dye, or nail polish remover-- all things that are commonly used around a bathroom sink. Really disappointed, as it's a very cute design. 1

“When designing BACKSJÖN wash-basins I decided to work with crushed marble. Casting with crushed marble has the advantage that you can get sharp, crisp edges. This enabled the distinct rectangular shapes and sleek, modern look of the wash-basins. I like that the material is very hard-wearing and combined with the high-gloss finish, it is also scratch-resistant. Lasting beauty is never wrong – especially in intensively used rooms like bathrooms."
