We also needed the parts to be well engineered, something lacking nowdays. As companies cut costs and raise prices, engineering and quality suffers.
Aurdal met all of our needs and wishes! We were able to afford all the features needed for our closet which included drawers, shelving and adjustable hanging spaces. It looks fabulous. And as always, all parts are well engineered and fit together like they should. Highly recommend this system.
Cheap and poor instructionsNateAll these parts have individual directions and no directions for a set that you buy. Its up to you to figure out how they connect to the other parts and what order to do it in. Also typical Ikea, no actual words to go with the pics for instructions.
Quality is cheap too.

Great for smaller closets KathrynI’ve used a number of different IKEA closet systems. This one worked great for my most recent renovation.
Converted closet to pantryJulieI used this in an apartment bedroom without a closet. Loved it. Disassembled and moved to my new house unsure if I would use it again. I had the idea to convert a coat closet that was not being used to an extra pantry. I used this system and it works wonderful. I just needed to purchase a few extra shelves but reassembly was a breeze. I have one section all shelves, and a second section a combination of shelves and wire baskets. The wire baskets hold my canned goods without issue (I thought it may weigh too much and it does not) and I can see what everything is. Saved so much time, money, and a huge space saver. As a side note, my master closet uses the same system, only it was installed when I purchased the house. It will forever be my go-to closet organizer. So impressed.
Aurdal System used for ClosetLuisWe used the grey Aurdal system for a bedroom closet. The hardest part was making sure to get the rail at the appropriate height and properly secured to the wall (studs). Building it went smooth. We did it in sections. My son at 2 years old has been helping me put together his Ikea bedroom furniture (dresser, nightstand and closet system)! Pretty straight forward. Holding up well for the past month or so. The color is great and gives a nice pop. We have received many compliments on it. Strong and durable.
There are no slow close drawers (most likely because of the smaller depth compared to the deeper PAX system we build in our master walk-in closet). Would highly recommend the system for closet use, etc..

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
