You can also use the cutting board as a serving tray for food such as cheese or charcuterie.

Can be placed over the bowl on BOHOLMEN, BREDSKÄR or FYNDIG sink to get an extra work surface for preparing food.

Splitting and splinteringAshleyI may have to try and sand this. I oiled it as directed and haven't exposed it yet to water and it's still starting to crack. I don't know if it will actually come apart. Not great quality, I am worried about how it will bear up under actual use. I also do not like the IKEA logo on it. But I do like it is big, thick, heavy, and not too expensive3

Works as expected.DianeThis a a solid cutting board. Easy to protect with vegetable oil.5
Aptitlig butcher block made a nice Father’s Day gift!EmilyMy husband has gotten into cooking and we didn’t have a proper heavy-duty cutting board. I found this one and he loves it!5
GoodJosephPretty good butcher block for the price. Did have some splinters, and the wood feels rougher than higher quality, more expensive boards I've had in the past. But for the price it's decent. Good size and heavy. It's not thin, but most butcher blocks are usually thicker than this one.4
Hardy butcher blockMichelleVery nice, rarely use it due to the weight of it.5
Solid and beautifulSylviaSize makes it easier to use since it does not move around and after adding a bit of oil on it , it looks great!5
SleekpJohnNice product sleek design5
Really niceYaninaIt’s perfect for me! After seasoning it I been using it and it’s been great! No complaints yet!5
Nicely made blockStephenI actually use these under stereo components to help reduce resonances. Their construction lends them well for this task. I use rubber/cork/rubber feet beneath them. 5
A Quality Cutting BoardDonaldThis cutting board is large, heavy, and thick. It has a drainage channel on all sides and as a bamboo product is well made and very hard. I bought it for an unusual use - as a base for stereo units, but certainly recognize and recommend its use as a dedicated cutting board. It is also quite inexpensive for such a unit. Recommended. 5
Corner splintering after two monthsDustinPurchased this board only two months ago. Rubbed oil into it as recommended. After two months there is one corner that is already splintering. It is to the point that I may need to replace to avoid someone getting a nasty splinter or cut.3
good sturdy cutting boardKengood sturdy board. When not in use I use it as a shelf for my toaster5
Heavy-Duty Cutting BoardJonWhile I have yet to cut a single veggie on this, I know it's going to be awesome. It's HEAVY (I actually thought Ikea accidentally sent TWO cutting boards!), so it's going to handle the rigor of daily usage.5
4 Years Later It Still WorksAnonymousPerforms like it should. Doesn’t crack in half like the other ones Ikea sells. Oil it regularly, let it dry standing up, and it’ll last. Owned for four years and shows no signs of quitting now. 5
Good but heavy SunghyunGood quality but it’s too heavy 4
Great quality and value!AlexisGreat5
Solid pieceKarenThis board is quite sturdy. It was a little rough upon arrival so I lightly sanded it before washing and oiling.5

Bamboo: the right tool for the job

From slicing delicate parsley leaves to chopping carrots all of our APTITLIG chopping boards are made of fast-growing, long-lasting bamboo – a renewable material that offers a highly durable, nick-resistance surface.

Material

What is bamboo?

Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA, we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.
