My favorites, but not perfect and are expensiveRobertI have two of these units and they serve as excellent storage units for me. If I could fit more in my office I probably would have another one. I would like it even better if the two bottom drawers were one deeper bottom drawer because I'd like a wide but deeper drawer. I don't think they design one this way due to the limited strength the drawer bottoms have. I have the narrow file storage unit (which I'm not at all happy with), the door unit and the narrow five drawer unit on casters as well and they provide me with storage I used to be lacking. This unit is expensive, much of that I'm sure is due to transport because there are a lot of parts to these and it makes them very heavy. One with fewer and deeper drawers should also cost less. Weight seems to certainly be a factor in cost at IKEA.
Love it but could use a few tweaksSindiaBought this in 2021 or 2022, and it is still going on strong! I love the idea of it; the drawers are the perfect height for all my miscellaneous crafts/hobbies. However, my biggest hurdle has been that the drawers only open half to three-quarters of the way. Anything I store in the back, I often forget about because I can't see it, or I have to take a bunch of items out to reach it. Overall has been really useful, though, just wish that the design issue could be fixed.
Quality has gone downYaelI have two other items from this series (the tall drawer unit and a cabinet) and the quality used to be great. Now it seems like this is literally made out of paper. Easily dented, and I doubt it will survive a move. Such a shame because I used to love Ikea furniture but now they're trending towards unacceptably low quality.
Overpriced but attractive Anonymous reviewerLuckily I am only using this to store paper for my cricut. The unit is made from particleboard. It is heavy due the amount of parts. It will serve its purpose but I doubt if it would hold up for any other purpose. It did go together in under an hour and all holes were drilled correctly. All fasteners were in the box.

Stylish storage ThereseI purchased this as the last IKEA item for my sewing/beading/crafting room. It fits perfectly underneath the Skogsta table that holds my sewing machines. It’s roomy enough to hold all the things I want at my fingertips.

Getting a new drawer face was way more difficult than it needs to be. IKEA should have replacement drawer faces on hand as this is not an isolated issue

How about full depth drawer glides??RichardShallow drawers waste space.the end 3 inches are useless. Things get lost back there. It's a choice. I would much prefer too see and have perfect access to what I put into the drawer. I know fully opening drawers hardware is more expensive. Like lots more, and I give up about an inch in width. Seeing instantly what I have there is worth a lot to me. In fact, for me it adds about $125 plus some more labor on my part. Widening the top, back, and bottom plus 6 pr of full extension glides is worth it to be able to use ALL of a drawers surface. I get the design purity of filling the case , but if asked I suspect the user/customer cares nothing about that purity and would prefer full vision of drawer contents to unseen design purity.
DisappointedSallyI have 3 white Alex Drawer storage carts in my sewing room and love them. Would give them 5 stars for sturdiness, ease of putting together and looks. That being said I wanted another in black for somewhere else in my house. For the drawers themselves, only the face is black, three sides and bottom inserts are all white. I ordered black, so I don't appreciate that the insides will be visiblely white that you will be able to see due to the cut outs for opening and when opened. I have never ordered from anywhere where the drawer insides don't match the rest of the piece.

What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
