Cheap Plastic JunkErinWhy were the lovely, excellent quality, wooden clip rings discontinued? The closest thing is these cheap looking plastic ones. They are flimsy and look cheap. So disappointed. Trying to match my other IKEA rods in the same room but that will be impossible.
Very PracticalFranciscoThe little bag with the rings also has a set of bare clips which are used when you buy the special curtain clips that create the fold on the top. They also come with the small alligator clips shown but I've never used these for a curtain. Maybe these can work well for a string of lights or something not very heavy.

Longer hooks neededLyndia CI love Ikea's drapery (especially RITVA; it's my go-to drapery). However, Ikea's drapery-gathering hook system with their rings have a flaw... they are too short. IF the drapery hook was longer: (1) it would allow the installer to catch all three spaces for better balance & stability, and (2) the ring would reach the hook at the TOP of the drapery and not be partially hidden. SINCE no other source manufactures a drapery gathering hook, I use Ikea's AND order rings from another source. (Their's have attached eyelets, positioned at right angles; therefore, the drapes don't come off so easily and the pleat is at right angles to the rod . This cost me $$, but I end up with a high quality product.)
Curtain ringsKathyI am so bummed these are plastic rings they are also small, along with the clips. I paid for shipping and IKEA is an hour away. Ugh!
Sadly the hooks dont stay in placeAmulyaI specifically paid the extra price and got this product from ikea as the rings has soft backing inside. As good as that feature is the clips and the other hooks that come with this package keep falling off after installation. It was so much work for us to constantly reattach them during installation but sadly even after installation they keep getting off while moving curtains. Would have worked perfect if the rings had eyelets. Design can be made better for the hooks, wish they worked out for me.

Such a scamMaThis is such a scam. Made out of cheapest plastic and you need TWO PACKS of these, to hang up curtains that come IN PAIRS. So you need to pay $20 to hang up your pair of $40 curtains. These should cost $3 maximum. Corporate greed knows no bounds in the year 2024.
