Wish I bought these a long time agoAmorisaI recently moved and had to recreate my art studio in my new home. I have had a Kallax 5x5 shelf unit for many years already but just used baskets or those clear plastic shoe boxes to keep my supplies organized in it. I discovered that ikea made drawers to fit this shelf unit and bought enough to fill the bottom half. They were so easy to build and install. They make my studio look so organized and sharp instead of a bit haphazard. They also improve its functionality. I love them.
Looks greatDanielOk so let's be honest here they are cute but they don't hold much. They are great as underwear drawers or side table drawers. I used some fancy wrapping paper to line them with and I love the look.

Far shallower than it looksLeilaI feel like this product grossly misrepresents its depth. Even the drawings depict the drawers as being roughly 80% the height of the front panel, but this is far from the truth. I don't believe the number saying it's nearly 3 inches deep, too. It looks like it's not even 2 inches in reality. Really unhappy with these drawers, as I do not feel they're suitable for a dresser in the slightest.
Great for the priceRachelNot as solid as previous version. Also it would be smart if there were 2 sets of pre-drilled holes so that if you are installing drawers in horizontally adjacent openings, you could choose the other set of holes to avoid the screws drilling into the dividing wall without hitting.
Broken pieces, poor qualityElsaI bought online and received 2 out of 4 broken. I was told to take it back to the store to return, where is an hour away and I don’t drive. The bookcase is fine but the drawers are very poor quality.

Not as useful, looks skewedIliaMuch less useful storage then expected since the side and back walls go. only to the half height, making drawers not being able to be loaded fully. Appearance is kinda skewed. Will not buy again.
Not as nice as the older versionJoshThe newer version of these drawers is fine, but not as nice as the older version. The new drawers themselves are a little wider than the older version, which makes them not compatible with the previous, sturdier insert.
There is also more play in the lateral movement of the drawers and this can lead to them looking crooked and uneven, which is not visually appealing.
However, overall they are decent and of expected quality. Typical IKEA cleverness in design, assembly, and installation.

It’s okAlexisCame partially broken. There is a part that you fold over when assembling, half of one of the sides came ripped. Made it work with it being broken.
Drawers do not stay on tracksClaireI installed these drawers into a kallax shelving unit I have had for 3 years. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fill the whole cube like shown in the photos. The insert itself seems to be too wide for the drawers. This causes the drawers to fall off of the track every time I pull them out. I’m very disappointed that the insert made for a specific shelving unit and made by the same company doesn’t even fit and work properly. I bought 3 and all 3 don’t work properly.

Love this item. DeloraI don’t always buy my pieces together. And it is nice to be able to add creative parts to an item when needed. Steady and functional. I have another one and it’s been probably 5 years and it still works fine.
Great idea but not easy to installKatherineI needed more organization within my Kallax bookshelves and decided to try the drawers. I needed a drill and bits in order to install it. After putting in the door, this was manageable. I’m not sure how anyone would be able to install this without having tools? Once it was in, it was very good to be able to organize my stuff. I wish they would come out with a drawer system that I could slide in and out of the opening without having to permanently install it. I like the Kallax insert with one shelf. Now if they could make a kallax insert with 2 or 3 drawers, like the Pallra, where I could slide it in. I would use the Pallra, but it’s dimensions at 13”x10” -ish… so about 5 inches of depth that is wasted.
