beautiful, but...AntoniaI've had this chair for 2 years and bought it when it was way cheaper. I would never spend the current $300+ for this chair. It's beautiful, but I have to sit on extra pillows for comfort. I'll be honest, I didn't even remember it had hydraulics because I don't need to use them so, I can't speak on whether or not it stays up. I would say it's good for light use, as I don't work full time from home, but I'm not sure how comfortable it would be if you had to be in it for an entire work day.

Beautiful but not practicalNatalieIt’s lovely to look at but not very comfy. It doesn’t roll well unless someone is sitting in it. For a $330 chair, you’d think the wheels would work better. The cushion had a dent in it as well. IKEA is great- returned with no issues.
Hydraulics don’t workJulieThe lift/raise function never worked for this chair. When you sit it in the chair sinks to the lowest level. I am 130lbs and it came this way right out of the box. I contacted ikea and I’d have to drive 3 hours to the nearest store to return/exchange. Very frustrating. It’s so beautiful but not worth the money.

PerfectionMiaYou’d think there is no way the wooden backed chair would be comfortable. The surprise is it isn’t just comfortable it’s also stylish. Easy to assemble. Easy to operate. Just basic in design and functionality. Must have.

Simply FitsRobI am 5 feet tall, and found it very difficult to find an office chair which fits, and allows a full day of use. At first it appeared expensive for a no frills, no super soft padding chair. But It was a perfect comfortable fit. Try it, you will like it. If not bring it back. But I do not think you will.
pretty but non-functioning hydraulicsMemory120lbs here, so not a hefty customer. I had this chair for 1 week before the lift/raise function gave up. I can raise the chair and then it immediately lowers me back to the bottom. I saw this noted in other reviews and thought maybe they were rough or heavy or just got fluke faulty chairs but nope, the hydraulics on this one just don't work. I got this on sale for $179 and it was still way too expensive for this to happen. It's bad enough that I'm going to make the 2 hour drive to return it. Too bad ikea can't just fix that function, this is a lovely, minimal chair and was quite comfy when raised high enough.

Aesthetic over comfortFionaThis chair is modern and aesthetically pleasing, but incredibly uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time! It's hard and only supports the lower back with a hard surface. This would be okay if you only use your home office for typing up a resume, but for working from home, it's incredibly uncomfortable. It's also rather expensive for just being pretty. I am switching out this chair with a proper office chair. I guess this will sit in the corner as an expensive accent chair because I can't return it or sell it back to Ikea.

Love this chair!Anonymous reviewerThis is a fantastic looking chair. Very sturdy and well built. I prefer a more firm cushion with a hard back for posture and this chair delivers, however it is still very confortable for home office use. I use it 6+ hours a day. One caveat about the wheels, the rolling mechanism is a bit stiff at first. But after the first week of use the chair wheels moved smoothly on my bamboo flooring.
Inconsistent optionsKatherineThese chairs are beautiful in person but the fact that the white/oak option doesn't come with casters - not even an option! - was a dealbreaker. I hope Ikea corrects this soon because I'd love to have this as my office chair.
