The cold-start function prevents hot water waste and saves energy. When you lift the lever straight up, only cold water is released. The function restricts opening the lever fully to the right.
Hot water is released by turning the lever to the left. It is only then that hot water is consumed.
This is a durable faucet that you can use for many years, since the hard, ceramic discs withstand the friction that always occurs when you change the temperature of the water.

poorly made; immediate leakSteveAs soon as I pulled the faucet out of the packaging I predicted that this was not going to go well, and I was right.
The mechanism is made out of plastic, so it is just not substantial.
I put the faucet in and it looked great and the water came out nicely.
HOWEVER, right away water leaked out from the bottom of the faucet where it connects to the hoses. Only one of them leaked, but it was a substantial leak and there was no way to fix it... no way of tightening the hose where it went into the faucet.
So, we are returning this item.

Surprised!JesusHonestly I was really skeptical about this when I first got it because it is plastic and very light weight. It was for my kids bathroom sink because they destroyed two metal faucets by breaking the handles. I thought I surely do not want to spen a lot of money and I needed something small for the IKEA sink they have surprisingly enough this faucet after installing actually feels sturdy! It is still in tact and it flows beautifully. My get a couple more for my bathroom.

Does Not Fit ODENSVIK SINKZiyuIt does not work/fit with ODENSVIK SINK! The overflow drain kit from the sink will block the faucet's nut under the sink. It is made of plastic. If you look for a metal feeling; this is not the one.
